Why Jamie from 'Monster Movie' is Not a 'Damsel in Distress'

This topic may seem trivial, but it was inspired 의해 an essay in the book In the Hunt: Unauthorized Essays on Supernatural. The essay(Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Jo the Monster Killer 의해 Mary Borsellino) asserted that every woman on the show was either a damsel in distress 또는 killed/written off because they were in danger of becoming "Buffy" and therefore threatening the masculinity of the show. The essay was written before Season 4 (and apparently before Season 3 as well because no mention is made of Ruby 또는 Bela).

Why I Like Sam Less Than I Like Dean: A Short Analysis of First Impressions

To start off, this isn't an 기사 meant to badtalk Sam, I was just thinking about why I don't like him as much as I like Dean.
What got me thinking was a pick on the Winchester Spot link
The options were:

Dean's ability of protecting Sam at any cost <3
Dean's unique style
