Interesting article. I agree that the character of Severus Snape did escape JKR completely by now. He's to become a stock character in literature. The tragic hero defined again, yet still eternal.

Besides, the HP book series has different levels of reading. True we do not read the same book the same way at different ages. Young kids, then teenagers, then adults, will come back to these books with a different perspective on actions, implications and characters. Young kids will enjoy the fun and magic of the books, while teenagers may enjoy the romance and action stuff. Adults may enjoy all the psychological and moral implications weaved by JKR all along the books. I for one is to enjoy Severus Snape in particular for the particular significance that we may change from our ways, his moral ambiguity, his tortured soul and tragic death as a tragic hero.

And of course, Alan Rickman's stunning performance as Severus Snape has given flesh and soul to this character, like the painter's final touch to the picture.

Yes, I stay on board because of Severus Snape (that's why I'm here, LOL).
