There are two types of people in the world - those who don't 사랑 horror, and me. I don't need to clarify for anyone here that I'm a horror fanatic as if 당신 visited this club 또는 my 프로필 ever, you'd know how much I 사랑 the genre. It is my 가장 좋아하는 genre, no contest and it has been since I was 8 years old. Maybe even before that, but that's the age I remember becoming obsessed. So in all those years, I have seen a LOT of horror 영화 and I have also had many years to collect them.

I realized I have not done one of these 기사 in 8 years, and some of my favorites have changed. In that time I became a Friday the 13th uber (a joke for all F13 팬 out there) fangirl and it is necessary for me to 게시하기 a new list.

Disclaimer: These are MY 가장 좋아하는 horror movies. Mine. Not yours. Do not take my rankings personal.

Fifty
Better Watch Out

This might 옮기기 out of my favorites later, but it's still fresh in my mind and I think about it often even though I've only seen it once. It was...very disturbing but extremely well done.

Jigsaw is an American horror film directed 의해 Michael and Peter Spierig and starring Tobin Bell, Laura Vandervoort, Matt Passmore, Callum Keith Rennie, Clé Bennett, and Hannah Emily Anderson. It is the eighth installment in the Saw franchise, picking up over a decade after the death of the eponymous Jigsaw killer during the police investigation of a new succession of murders that fit his modus operandi.

This review will contain NO spoilers for Jigsaw but might for Saw 1-7.

For those unaware the Saw series is about John Kramer, also called the "Jigsaw Killer" 또는 simply "Jigsaw". Rather than killing his victims outright, Jigsaw traps them in situations that he calls "tests" 또는 "games" to test their will to live through physical 또는 psychological torture.

The Saw series is my absolute 가장 좋아하는 franchise of all-time tied with Friday the 13th. I 사랑 both for entirely different reasons so I feel honest in saying that both are my all-time favorites. BUT that's for another article. This is all about Saw, and I am obsessed with this series. I have seen every movie in the theater and waaaay back in the 일 was Livejournal...

Please keep in mind that this is merely my opinion, and this will be almost strictly horror. 당신 could say "What's 할로윈 without Hocus Pocus and Halloweentown?" and that's fine but also cliched and not horror. This is not a list of my 가장 좋아하는 horror 영화 의해 any means either, just a list of great ones I think are fun to watch at 할로윈 time and give me that sense of Horrorween (my new 가장 좋아하는 word btw). I have also included some horror 텔레비전 in here as well just for the short attention span people (aka me).

In no particular order...

Stan Helsing

"It's 할로윈 night, and slacker video clerk Stan Helsing along with his insanely sexy ex-girlfriend, best buddy and an exotic dancer/'massage therapist' - detours into a town cursed 의해 the biggest monsters in movie history: Freddy, Jason, Pinhead, Leatherface, Chucky, & Michael Myers."

It is a 2017 American 수퍼내츄럴 horror film based on Stephen King's 1986 novel of the same name and directed 의해 Andy Muschietti starring Jaeden Lieberher, Jeremy 레이 Taylor, Sophia Lillis, Finn Wolfhard, Wyatt Oleff, Chosen Jacobs, Jack Dylan Grazer and Bill Skarsgard as Pennywise the Dancing Clown. It opened September 8, 2017.

This review will contain NO spoilers.

It's important to note that while this could be seen as a remake of the 1990 Miniseries, it's actually a re-adaptation of Stephen King's original book IT. So while I may reference the miniseries now an again, during this 기사 I will not be comparing the two. Just seeing this iteration as its own movie.

For those that do not know, as I stated above this is an adaptation of Stephen King's novel 의해 the same name. The film tells the story of seven children in Derry, Maine, who are terrorized 의해 the eponymous being, only to face their own personal demons in the process.

Wish Upon is a 2017 American 수퍼내츄럴 horror film directed 의해 John R. Leonetti, and starring Joey King, Ki Hong Lee, and Ryan Phillipe. It was released on July 14, 2017.

As a major massive horror fan, I think it's very important that we support the genre. To some people that's exclusive to one sub-genre but to others like me, that means everything. Now, that doesn't mean if you're not interested in something go see it anyway just because ~horror~. But I don't buy into the PG-13 horror is always bad belief that many seem to have. Not every horror movie is made for adults. Not every horror movie is made to be uncensored. And not every horror movie is made to scare you. As a genre fan, I never have nor will I ever watch horror to be scared. Some people do, which is why 영화 like these (and 사무용 겉옷, 전반적인 PG-13 horrors) get poor reviews because non-genre 팬 are going to see them and not being scared and being upset 의해 it. So far this movie has gotten poor reviews 의해 critics, but genre 팬 seem to like it. Some even a lot. So TL;DR: don't dismiss this movie (or future PG-13 horrors) just because of the rating. Unless of course, you're not actually a genre fan.

47 Meters Down is a 2017 British survival horror film directed 의해 Johannes Roberts, and starring Mandy Moore and Claire Holt. It was released on June 16, 2017.

I just got back from seeing this and WOW! All I have to say is wow. Let's just dive (pun intended) right in to my review. This will contain no spoilers.

The film starts out with sisters Lisa (Mandy Moore) and Kate (Claire Holt) on vacation in Mexico. Within 5 minutes, we know that Lisa's deadbeat of a boyfriend Stuart dumped her because she wasn't fun enough for him and he was bored with their relationship. Lisa is still pining for him even after he continues being a douche to her:

Lisa: Mexico is great, wish 당신 were here xo
Stuart: I'm glad you're having fun. I cleared my stuff out.

Jeez. As I said - douche. Even after all this, Lisa still wants to impress him 의해 how fun she is. Kate takes her out for a fun night on the town where they meet 2 locals who talk about going cage diving to swim with the sharks. Kate, an experienced diver is eager to go and the "not fun" Lisa is very hesitant. Ultimately, she gives in...

I have a confession to make: I 사랑 horror; movies, books, 텔레비전 shows, it doesn’t matter. I can’t make it through the week without my fix of horror escapism. As a very introspective person, I have often wondered why this is the case; why am I drawn to this specific genre? After a productive pondering session, I think I have come up with four compelling reasons horror is such a well-loved genre (at least to me).

1.    It’s edgy.
Do 당신 remember being an 이모 teenager? Wearing skull and crossbone jewelry with punk rock band T-shirts and 글쓰기 angsty lyrics in a journal? If you’re nodding 당신 probably loved those things because they made 당신 feel like a badass. They gave 당신 a false sense of security; as if because 당신 embraced the danger and angst 당신 couldn’t be hurt 의해 them.

2.    It helps with anxiety.
또는 at least it does with mine. There’s an old Persian proverb:
[i]“I never complained of the vicissitudes of fortune, nor suffered my face to be 흐린, 흐린 날씨 at the revolution of the heavens, except once, when my feet were bare, and I had not the means of obtaining...

로스트 심장 (1973) based on a tale 의해 the marvellous ghost story teller MR James, is one of the Ghost Stories adapted 의해 the BBC for the Yuletide series, adapted 의해 Robert Chapman. Filmed on location in Lincolnshire during November, the autumnal scenery and 고딕 Manor House provide a beautifully effective setting for such a spooky ambient tale.
The story tells of Stephen Elliott, (Simon Gipps) a young orphan boy sent to stay with his much older cousin, Mr Abney (Joseph O'Conor) who's portrayal is reminiscent of Dr Caligari in his jerking movements and animated expressions. The eccentric Mr Abney is an alchemist seeking immortality while young Stephen is plagued 의해 ominous visions of a young gypsy girl and an Italian boy, with their hearts missing...
Use of lighting and creepy, distinctive hurdy-gurdy 음악 raises tension dramatically to truly spine chilling effect, it accompanies the appearances of the children, who are akin to Nosferatu with their sharp long nails and menacing grins.

Freaks is a 1932 pre-code horror film directed 의해 Tod Browning, a former circus contortionist. It stared real life sideshow freak performers and the original version was considered too shocking for audiences, it would be decades before it gained notoriety as a cult classic.
The plot follows the scheming mission of a beautiful trapeze artist named Cleopatra, who, on learning of the inheritance of the sideshows midget, decides to marry him and ultimately run off with her lover Hercules, the sideshows strong man.
On a stormy night, all the freaks 가입하기 forces and transform Cleopatra in the Feathered Hen. Although not shown in the DVD, which has the commercial alternative version, in the original story Hercules is castrated and becomes a soprano singer.
The true freaks in this movie are the 'normals' who mock and abuse the previously accepting, welcoming freaks.
This movie has some highly memorable, grotesque imagery and has had an immeasurable influence on the horror genre, in 1994, it was selected for the National Film Registry's archive of cinematic treasures.

Carnival of Souls is a low budget horror movie released initially in 1962 and directed 의해 Herk Harvey. (Who also stars)
Mary Henry (Candace Hilligoss) is the sole survivor of a fatal car accident following a drag race.
After the crash, Mary leaves town and takes a job as a church organist, but her new start is plagued 의해 visions of a ghoulish man (Herk Harvey). As her creepy visions intensify, Mary finds herself drawn to an oddly alluring, deserted carnival. The surreal setting and imagery that ensues within the carnival is nightmarish and memorable, reminiscent of many great horror movies.
Overall, Carnival of Souls is a stylish, eerie, effective and chilling horror film that has earned a devoted cult following.

Slasher Survey conducted by Eye Candy Lenses
As an avid 팬 of horror films, 할로윈 is definitely one of the highlights of my entire year. However, I can’t hide my disappointment at the fact that – despite Hollywood’s efforts – there has never been a modern slasher remake, sequel, 또는 prequel that has ever matched up to the original film… and it seems I’m not the only one!

A survey carried out 의해 Eye 캔디 Lenses revealed that the majority of avid horror films 팬 would be delighted to see some of the most iconic original slasher films brought back to life. However, whilst it came as no surprise that horror 팬 have been longing for a slasher sequel involving the likes of Freddy, Jason, and Leatherface… the most 인기 came as a shock…

Whilst Freddy and his nightmares coming an extremely close second, the 상단, 맨 위로 spot was stolen 의해 psychological nutjob, Hannibal Lector. Silence of the Lambs has long been hailed as not only one of the most celebrated and iconic horror films, but also one of the best films of all time! Would a remake, 또는 even a sequel, ever live up to the insane genius created 의해 Anthony Hopkins?

Hello everyone, I thought I'd do a list of my 가장 좋아하는 horror movies. There may be some that should be there like The Conjuring 2 또는 The Woman in Black but there won't be because I have not seen them yet. There are about 20 영화 listed here that are my favorites and it's in no particular order. I should also mention when I put 14A 또는 18A, that is the Canadian movie ratings, as I am from Canada that is what I use. I hope that cleared up a bit.

20. Ginger Snaps 2000 18A Starring Emily Perkins, Katharine Isabelle, Kris Lemche

This is such a great movie. I haven't seen it in a long time. I should though. If 당신 like watching 영화 about 늑대인간 또는 if 당신 are a 팬 of the show Teen Wolf, 당신 should definitely see this. 당신 won't be disappointed. Just remember that it is very violent and has a lot of blood but what else can 당신 expect from a 고딕 horror movie.

19. The Conjuring 2013 14A Starring Patrick Wilson, Vera Farmiga, Ron Livingston

There's a strong reason why I'm ready for this movie and I hope to hell that it's good. In fact, there's 더 많이 than one reason. Among them is Blake Lively who looks extremely attractive and is not a bad actress herself, plus the strong realistic tone this movie seems promising to give. I know, yes... it's ANOTHER 상어 movie and has SyFy shoved that genre into the ground enough? BUT... this isn't SyFy, this isn't Asylum. This is a real theatrical film, just one week from official release (originally June 29th, now June 24th) and it looks downright terrifying. I'm scared for Blake. I'm scared for the predicament she's facing, especially after having already been attacked 의해 the monstrous predator lurking beneath the water around her.

But the ONE thing I'm excited about and I'm sure a lot agree is that this is no sequel, prequel, midquel, reboot, remake 또는 a remake of a remake. It is a thriller about a young woman and a great white shark. Man VS Beast, 또는 in this case "Woman VS Beast". I say BRING IT ON. The people behind the movie seem confident that it'll be a bloody success, at the most financially because the advertising lately has been crazy good with trailers and...

Everyone is familiar with the usual branches of horror: Jump Scares, Torture Porn, Psychotic Slasher, Unspeakable Evil, Domineering Villainy etc. Yet in today's current media stream we are slowly seeing the demise of one of the greatest mediums of the horror genre. Psychological. Now, I know some of 당신 know what this genre is but to those who do not it is based on the emotional and psychological aspect of the main character/characters 의해 either exploiting 또는 twisting them in ways that drive them to a fine breaking point. From films such as "Jacobs Ladder" to even video games such as "System Shock"; psychological horror once had been the crown jewel of the horror genre.
Now where are we today? Every passing 일 and 년 we are constantly being fed the same old material such as found footage films like "Paranormal Activity" and watered-down remakes such as "Friday the 13th". What exactly caused this genre to die? Even "Silent Hills" cancellation is adequate proof that even the most renown studios have abandoned this amazing concept of the horror genre. I have no known 또는 exact answer to why it has been in recession for so long so I would like to ask everyone this one question:...

Marzy Hart
Got a hankering for a little bloody humor? Then, you’ll probably want to check out the original web series, “SLICE.”

Created and directed 의해 Daniel Ferry, this horror meets dark comedy crossover stars Marzy Hart as a woman who can’t quench her thirst to kill. Marzy also produced the 7 episodes that make up the first season.

“SLICE” recently screened at Vancouver WebFest, earning a ‘Best Horror’ nomination, and will be heading to HollyWeb Fest as an ‘Official Selection’ later this month.

I recently caught up with Marzy Hart to find out 더 많이 about “SLICE.”

How would 당신 describe your web series “SLICE”?

MARZY: “Slice” is a fun, surprising, and extreme exploration of our deepest fears. It’s for anyone who’s ever wondered if their polite, unassuming 프렌즈 are really evil, sociopath killers in disguise. It’s also a collaboration with local musicians and establishments to help us tell our story, and hopefully it will shine light on a side of New York that non-locals haven’t seen before.

This Monday I was left all alone in my apartment when my family went to London, and Spain to have fun. So I decided to start a Japanese horror movie week!

Monday: Ringu a.k.a The ring.
This was a very good story with good execution, the scares were mild and it had few to no jumpscares. I like it better that way though, it really got under your skin in a different way!

Score: 8/10

Tuesday: Ju-on: The grudge.
Less story, 더 많이 scares! This is the type of movie that makes 당신 scared of your environment! I don't want to turn around, open closets, 또는 go to 침대 right now!
I would have liked a bit 더 많이 explanation on a few things though.

Score: 7,7/10

Wednesday: Chakushin ari a.k.a One Missed Call
Film wise this is the best one yet! 당신 really feel for the main character and the suspense of the phones going off all the time is amazing!
It's not really scary as much as eerie for the first hour, then it starts getting really creepy!

This is important to horror 팬 and collectors alike because as Child's Play series 팬 we are extremely limited in choice as far as accurate replicas go and are forced to pay ridiculous amounts of money for one replica usually of foreign origin because every single worth while piece created for this film is of limited release and considered extremely rare. It's not right for 팬 of the series to have to pay 2,000 average for a replica and one from 5 years 이전 at that. We want a "to scale" accurate replica of Chucky from the original Child's Play films in his unstitched form.

I am a fun of horror remakes strangely, I enjoyed 할로윈 and Nightmare on elms 거리 almost to near perfection , the Evil Dead was em was just Okay-ish! It had a good metascore of 7.2 from 인터넷무비 데이타베이스 so I knew it was worth seeing , which it wasn’t frankly. The plot has been done many times over and over since its original so 당신 would have that deja vu cliche feeling hanging around you. The story line in the beginning was not so clear but it made up for it with its superficial gore that kept me tuned whilst it sent some shrills down my spine. The dismemberment of the limbs was a little “SAW” in nature but that was just that.

The movie certainly has its flaws which are:

1) There is no build up to the suspense ,everything that happens just happens ( I am not going into detail without giving much spoilers).

2) The movie apart from its gore is not scary ( I thought this was a horror movie not a slasher thriller)

3) I expected some twists and surprises which came only at the end and that was poorly done.

UK based film 별, 스타 tough guy Paul Sutton faces the 'fright' of his life.

So, on January 18, the 일 it came out, I saw Mama. I just scrolled through all the "review" filtered 기사 and noticed there was something wrong with this page. It didn't have a Mama review on it!! So I will explain how this movie goes through and how good it is.

Personally, I thought it was a good scary movie for anyone who doesn't mind jumping out of their skin, running around the globe and coming back to watch the 다음 five 분 until it happens again.

It was loaded with scares, but there weren't too many; it wasn't overloaded with scares. I find that a good quality in a horror movie, as it sometimes takes away from the plot if you're too busy running around the globe to see the 다음 part.

It begins with a man who has to take his two daughters, aged three and one, to a creepy log 선실, 캐빈 in the middle of the woods after killing his wife, and their mother (same person). He brought a gun and was about to kill his older daughter, Victoria, when a mysterious black figure takes him into the dark of the 선실, 캐빈 and he was never seen again. Victoria was stuck in the 선실, 캐빈 with her little sister, Lily, for five years. They were found 의해 a couple...

I used to be scared of horror movies, and really gory things,
I couldn't stand it back then, I would just run away and hide my face in a pillow.
But ever since I was eleven, I started to like it.

To be honest, I don't know how I changed soo much from back then.
Now 당신 would see me sitting in front og a tv screen all 일 long watching
nothing but horror, and act like it was nothing.
The only thing, that does scare me is when somebody was to walk up behind me without knowing.. and scared me 의해 surprise.. gosh I hate that stuff lol.
Now why I like them now?

1: leap at his face and try to rip off his red nose. if it comes off and u hear the clown swear, u know hes a person. calmly walk away casually like nothing happened. If his nose is stuck to his face, u know he is a real clown. pull ur hand back as quickly as possible so it doesn't grab it and shove it in his mouth full of super sharp teeth.

2: run away as fast as u can. clowns cant run fast in clown shoes because they r like 10 sizes too big.

3: if u have nowhere to run, grab a sharp object and cut its suspenders. since they usually have really big pants, they should fall right down.

4: then yank its 무지개, 레인 보우 afro over his eyes and shove him away.

5: if he is wearing a tie, 덮개, 랩 it around its neck and yank him toward you, then shove him down on the ground

6 yank off his shoes and toss them far away
