Guinevere’s dynamic with the knights of Camelot

Gwen has to some extent a bond with the knights of Camelot. Sir Elyan is her brother, Leon was her childhood friend, with Lancelot there is a mutual respect, Gwaine is a good friend. To me the writers are establishing that Gwen is in a way connected with them all. Guinevere is the future 퀸 of Camelot. So the knights are bound to pledge their loyalties to her and protect her when it is needed. It will not be because of her 제목 and their duties, but out of their respect and 사랑 for Guinevere herself.

EPaws Totally true, as I said somewhere else. She has the other three main men in her life covered. BFF - Merlin Hottie Hubby - Arthur the delish Elyan - Brother by birth. The collective union of all is Camelot. One purpose. One way. One goal...one power in defense of the realm.
islanda Great article AG1992. I think the show's writer's have done this very cleverly and it sets up the future chain of command (so to speak). My friend EP has said it above so perfectly.

lv2rt In fact this is a direct taking from the very early versions of this legend. Guinevere was very instrumental in the code of chivalry towards women that the Knights of the Round Table are known for. Their love for her and her influence over them created that code that wouldn't have existed at the time. Women were treated as propety to be traded, forced into marriage for male advancement, treated like children or ignored altogther. But with Queen Guinevere the worth of women was evaluated extensively.

For all the ways I feel like Guinevere's character was handled less than ideally, this precision of development is really symbolically remarkable. Her place as the sole woman around the round table is truly stunning visually (given the normal archetype is one man surrounded by a harem of doting women) Lv2rt thanks for the great info about the historical significance.
