Now that 더 많이 clubs have the ability to create official 아이콘 & banner picks, I thought my link on the subject could use a little revision.
Why does it matter, 당신 ask? It's important to remember that 팬팝 is a community, and should do things as a group. Randomly starting a 투표 for a new icon, banner 또는 background is rude to other club members. Making 아이콘 and banners takes time, and the first options (likely made 의해 the person who started the poll) are given the unfair advantage of being there the longest. Early voters aren't likely to check back in every 일 to see if new options have been added. Following these steps will help ensure that everyone has a fair chance to participate and that all options are given the same amount of consideration. (It'll also keep 당신 from getting yelled at.)
Step 1: Alert the Fans!
If 당신 want a change, the first thing 당신 need to do is let everyone else know. I like to start with a pick, like this:
These options give me an idea of how many people will be contributing, and if people even want a change.
Step 2: Make a Forum!
In the pick's 코멘트 section, I like to link to the 포럼 that will hold everyone's 아이콘 and banner suggestions. Adding a real link to the club works too.
Feel free to copy and paste my icon/banner guidelines into a 포럼 of your own:
-Icons need to be square and at least 100x100 px.
-Banners need to be 800x100 px 또는 a size that scales down to that.
-Mind the club title, which will cover up whatever's in the right bottom corner of your banner.
If it's a small 또는 inactive club, I usually leave the 포럼 open for one week. Bigger clubs with lots of active 팬 should probably be open longer, as there will probably be 더 많이 participants.
Why not just skip straight to the 포럼 step? Because 포럼 don't show up in updates. When 당신 create a forum, people will only see it if they're browsing in that club. If the club has seen no activity in the last year, 당신 can pretty much bet that nobody is going to see your forum. If it's a small 또는 inactive club, 또는 you're somehow opposed to picks, even a link will do. Just make sure something shows up in everyone's updates.
Step 3: Pick time!
If everyone's contributions are in on Deadline Day, it's time to make the picks. (You might want to check on the 포럼 a few days before the dealdine and make sure nobody has asked for 더 많이 time.) The pick buttons are located on the club's homepage.
If there are a lot of options, I like to make the banner pick first, then proceed with the 아이콘 pick after a winner is determined. The one-pick-at-a-time method also gives 팬 a chance to make a new icon, 또는 tweak an existing one, to match the winning banner. Icon/banner clashes are bad for the soul. And the eyes.
Once the picks are up, you're pretty much done, because 팬팝 will take care of the rest.

I did it again.
I accidentally hit the "start chat" tab again.
And couldn't remember how make it go away.
I've had this problem a few times before and have to re-learn it every time.
For some reason, I'm always under the impression that the solution lies under my 프로필 settings.
It does not.
So now there is an 기사 to remind me, and anyone else who needs it, how to get rid of this dang thang.
Step 1: Under the "contacts" tab, click "I am online." The words, not the pencil. If 당신 click the pencil, it will complicate things and you'll have to reload the page.
Step 2: Click "Log out."
It's not the most obvious way out, but it's easy once 당신 finally remember how to do it, so I hope this helps cut down on some frustration. (If not for you, at least for me 다음 time I accidentally open it and frantically 검색 for a solution. =P)
