Hey, everyone. I'm sure most of 당신 have heard of 또는 are familar with role playing, right? I'm not talking about RPG games, but the actual act of role playing. Where 당신 get into a character from a series, game, movie, etc, 또는 create your own character and post with one person 또는 a group with your own storyline and setting. The genres are vast, everything from 아니메 to wolves. It's a 인기 activity that many (as far as I can tell) enjoy, and it's found on many sites. A lot have 포럼 dedicated to it as well. 팬팝 is becoming increasingly popular, so I wonder why role playing hasn't been introduced into a spot until now. I've only joined since a few days ago, mind you, but I have created a spot for it located link. Am I alone on 팬팝 with my 사랑 for role playing, 또는 are there 더 많이 of 당신 out there? Of course, I can be mistaken, and if there ar eany spots for this please infrom me!

I wrote a small soap in my spot, but I wanted to write a 더 많이 elborate one here, in hopes that 더 많이 people will come to see it. I think it's going to be a great addition to 팬팝 and I hope 당신 all 가입하기 me in this realization.

Oh, and for a side note, if someone could make me a banner and such for the spot it would be nice. I'm not a graphics person 의해 any means.

So, what do 당신 think, Fanpop? =)

 Yes, yes it is.
Yes, yes it is.
As some of 당신 may know, I often suffer from grammar-induced rage blackouts. These can be triggered 의해 anything from a misplaced apostrophe to the incorrect usage of "your" and "you're". So, I decided to do something about it.. mostly because I'm afraid the 다음 dangling modifier I come across might send me spiraling into a violent rampage the likes of which have never been seen.

I understand that a lot of Fanpoppers are not native English speakers, and thus might not have as good a hold on our sometimes ridiculously complicated grammatical rules. Obviously, I can't fault them for their mistakes....

Right, I have been thinking about this. I have been thinking about certain things on 팬팝 recently and as much as I 사랑 this place there are certain things that irk me.

Hate Spots
I've seen spots that are about hating a certain thing. I thought this place was 더 많이 about sharing things we enjoy so we can give each other images, links, videos, etc not "oh I hate this and this and this". It doesn't make anything friendly.

Me Me Me Spots
I mean no offence to anyone that has these kinds of spots and has created them but 팬팝 isn't MySpace 또는 any of those other social networks. It's a different...

Okay everybody on 팬팝 is a 팬 of something, 당신 have to be, But what is a true fan? Well, I'll tell you.
According to Webster's Dictionary, a 팬 is
A:
Function:    noun
Etymology:    probably short for fanatic
1 : an enthusiastic devotee (as of a sport 또는 a performing art) usually as a spectator
2 : an ardent admirer 또는 enthusiast (as of a celebrity 또는 a pursuit) <science-fiction fans>

This is a great definition of a 팬 of a baseball team 또는 a specific person, such as the Yankees 또는 Brad Pitt. But is that really what the 팬 on 팬팝 are? No....

I'm not afraid of you, Ghost!
I'm not afraid of you, Ghost!
So I was hanging out on my computer this evening, watching some 비디오 and browsing on Fanpop, when I noticed something that disturbed me. In not one, but two different spots. I discovered several examples of what I believe to be "Ghost Accounts".

"Ghost Accounts" are what I'm calling additional accounts created 의해 an already existing 팬팝 member to skew the results of a pick 또는 an argument in their favor. I have read things 게시됨 의해 other Fanpoppers suggesting their existence in the past, but hadn't knowingly spotted any for myself. Tonight I believe I spotted three different people doing...

Have 당신 noticed that people on this site add lots and lots of things and gain load's of 팬 then out of nowhere are never adding again 또는 only add now and then. Look through your 팬 list and see who is still adding and praise them for there loyalty and praise even 더 많이 또는 even prop them for their work, they all deserve it.

Ok, I usually don't make user guides but this one needs to be made. I have seen a lot of picks and a lot of them are boring 또는 annoying. Here is a list of steps to help 당신 out.

1. Try to have 더 많이 than three 답변 if possible. If the 질문 is "Who should Jim be with?" Put, Karen and Pam, and then put an answer like neither 또는 Katy.

2.Always have pictures for the 질문 if it isn't a yes, no, 또는 maybe question. Pictures bring in 더 많이 팬 and make the picks 더 많이 interesting.

3. Try to ask 질문 that people haven't already asked and 질문 that people will be interested in. Don't make it boring.

Now these are the three golden steps to making a good, quality pick on fanpop. If 당신 feel I need to add anything, then please leave it in the comments.

I have a pet peeve.

As a writer, I have found my stuff 게시됨 on other websites without my permission, and sometimes without so much as a mention that it was MY article... 또는 a link back to the original. This ticks me off, and it is illegal to do so.

I have not come across this on 팬팝 with 기사 yet, but I have seen it numerous times on images.

Some of the people I adore the most are even doing it. I have to assume innocence here and figure some folks just don't know... so I'ma tell ya ;)

Credit. Credit. Credit. The option to add the 사진 credit when 당신 제출하기 an image is there for a reason....

This is a forgery. Every single word is plagiarized. (1)

What is Plagiarism?
Many people think of plagiarism as copying another's work, 또는 borrowing someone else's original ideas. But terms like "copying" and "borrowing" can disguise the seriousness of the offense:

According to the Merriam-Webster Online Dictionary, to "plagiarize" means

1. to steal and pass off (the ideas 또는 words of another) as one's own
2. to use (another's production) without crediting the source
3. to commit literary theft
4. to present as new and original an idea 또는 product derived from an existing source.

In other words, plagiarism...

Ok, there has been a growing problem that I have recently noticed on Fanpop. I have been receiving many e-mails that are very annoying and sometimes even offending. I don't care if 당신 are having a problem with another fanpopper 또는 당신 are telling me about a new spot. The fun part about 팬팝 is that 당신 get to discover new spots for yourself. And we might not like the certain spot. Also, if 당신 are having a problem with another fanpoper than just ignore them and don't tell us about that certain person.i don't want to here it. I might even be 프렌즈 with that specific fanpoper. If 당신 are...

I was never intending to do a follow-up 기사 on fanpop-addiction. I just took it for granted that I had grown happily addicted and I would remain that way. I basked in the warm, happy glow that only recognition for fanpop-contribution can give you, and looked 앞으로 to the fanpopping years ahead.

But then disaster struck. And I'm not talking about the massive floods that have hit England... (I was fine with the cellar being filled with water...)No, my internet broke and left me without fanpop.

So now, my 초 list. The list of what happens when a fanpop-addict is forced to quit.

1. When...

Okay, first of all I don't write these 기사 but now I'm fed up! Can anyone please enlighten me because I am confused. What is the problem if I 또는 anybody else posts 더 많이 links/videos/images than another fan? If I happen to be the one with the most links/videos/images 또는 whatever on 팬팝 that is because I like helping out the website. It doesn't make any sense for people to feel jealous 또는 attack me 또는 other people for posting 더 많이 content than them. That is the most absurd reason to get angry. I am posting content mainly to help out the website but I also know that some people on here...

 Plugging away at our laptops
Plugging away at our laptops
It was just about one 년 이전 that link and I were having our regular lunch meetups downtown in the Financial District of San Francisco. Years 이전 we shared a cube in Santa Clara at Yahoo! where we first met. Now we were being reunited just a few blocks away from one another and having lunch like old times. We decided to pay a visit to our 가장 좋아하는 hole in the wall, the International 음식 Court on the corner of 부시, 부시 대통령은 and Kearny Streets. Most people would never have spotted this joint and even if they had they would pick up their pace and keep on walking. Being the adventurous (and cheap) guys...

No more nudity and disgusting images!!
Please don't post nude 또는 indecent pictures in any spot. There are children on this website. Please don't post anything 당신 wouldn't want your own kids to look at. If an actress is being made fun in a picture please don't post that in their spot. And 당신 should know better than to post naked pictures of them also. There is a place for those 이미지 and it's called PerezHilton.com. It's disrecpectful to post inhumane pictures of an actress/actor in their spot. This is 팬팝 not hatepop. Another issue that has been irking me is duplicate images. I know I have accidently 게시됨 duplicates before...

I feel like it is time that I tell 당신 how much 당신 all mean to me and how 팬팝 has changed my life. About a 년 이전 I became a stay-at-home mom. Which was really a blessing, however a huge stressor in my life was the fact that I had essentially no adult interaction during the 일 and no way of really feeling validated. I found 팬팝 one 일 while browsing for Office episodes online. I saw the picks and it looked so fun, that I just had to join! Since then I have spent hours everyday on Fanpop. It is my outlet for all the stresses of being a young mother who is nearly solely responsible...

This is merely an addition to Papa's fantastic soapbox 기사 on link (a must-read) but some users have still been asking about editing a pick that they've made after they have published it. Here's a very basic how-to.

1. How the Pick's Creator can 편집 the pick:
If 당신 want to add additonal choices to your options 또는 이미지 to them, all 당신 need to do is look for and click on the pencil 아이콘 on the 상단, 맨 위로 of your pick. This will take 당신 back to the pick creation page where 당신 can freely add new options and image to your heart's desire.

2. How Voters can 편집 the pick:
If the creator allowed...
