Because Stephanie Myers wanted to make a herd of 뱀파이어 with no weaknesses and ruin the vampire image forever -_-

They are just big bugs that is all.

In myth, 뱀파이어 are supposed to burn when sunlight reaches their skin. And also, they can be killed with wooden stake and they fear holy objects like the Holy Cross, garlic 꽃 etc. Stephanie Meyer moulded her version of 뱀파이어 so that they can go about easily instead of just coming out at night and also to make them seem indestructable. Meyer wanted to make her 뱀파이어 absolutely flawless, so she brought it up that her version of 뱀파이어 sparkle.

For the same reason other 뱀파이어 do whatever they do in the sun. That's just how they were created.

There really is no "correct" way for a vampire to react to sunlight. It's no big deal, people just 사랑 complaining.

Because its Smeyer's sexual 판타지 and sparkling is apparently 'hot'. And it's based on a dream.
