3. Newborns

When we got up to Edward's room, I shut the door behind us. Edward leaned in slowly, our lips met, I twisted my fingers into his hair as he did mine. He threw me on the couch, this 키스 was a little over his line of security, but he didn't seem to care. We were both on the couch, our fingers interwound in each other's hair. All of a sudden Emmett's voice boomed into the room below us. The 키스 stopped abdruptly and we looked at each other.
"That was the best hunting trip ever!" I heard Emmet's loud voice say. Everyone else was talking also.
"Well that was nice while it lasted." I said looking at Edward and smiling, he smilied back that intoxicating smile of his was threatning to make me melt.
"Well, we should go and tell the others about Charlie." He said getting up.
"Kay." I said opening the door.
We walked down the stairs and saw the others standing at the door Alice was beside Jasper, her arms wrapped around his waist. Rosalie and Emmett were talking about bears.
"We have something we need to tell all of you." Edward said looking serious.
"What is it?" Rosalie said, sounding alarmed.
"Charlie came over yesterday. He wanted me to come 집 and I said no, Edward was trying to assure him that I was okay and he got mad. He drew back his fist and was going to hit Edwad, but I stopped his fist, mid-hit and it shattered a couple of bones, broke through his skin, and a chip of bone flew off and busted a critical vein." I said looking at each of them.
"Is he okay?" Jasper said wrapping his arm around Alice's shoulder and looking concerned.
"No, he was loosing too muck blood and he was going to die unless Carlisle changed him." I said as Edward wrapped his arm around my waist.
"Where is he now?" Emmett said curious.
"He's out hunting with Carlisle." I said turning my head to look at Edward.
Just then Carlisle and Charlie walked through the door.
"Charlie, this is Jasper, Emmett, and Rosalie." Carlisle said guesturing towards them.
"Hello Charlie. It's nice to have 당신 here." Jasper said shaking Charlie's hand.
"Hello Charlie." Emmett said shaking hands with Charlie and patting him on the back.
"Welcome to the family." Rosalie said sincerly.
"Thanks." Charlie said nodding his head once.
I broke free of Edward's grip around my waist and went over beside Charlie and looked up into his eyes. He put his arm around me. I remembered the vision I had in the forest a couple of days ago. The vision was comming true, here I was, with my dad and we are both 뱀파이어 now, his eyes are red and mine are just turning golden, our skin is paper white and he has his strong arm around my waist. Father and daughter, vampire and vampire standing side-by-side. I never thought the 일 would come. I still wanted Charlie to be a human, I chose this life to live with Edward forever, but Charlie, this isn't the right life for him. I didn't want this for him. I never realized it, but Iv'e basicly destroyed my family 의해 becoming a vampire. I didn't want to destroy our family, but in a way, I did. I've killed two members of my family. I killed myself and I killed Charlie because without a beating heart, 당신 really aren't alive, you're alive in a way, but in another way, your dead.
Everyone 스플릿, 분할 up and went their seperate ways, Rosalie and Emmett headed towards the garage, Alice and Jasper went into the backyard, Carlisle and Esme went upstairs.
"Dad, I'd need to talk to you." I said looking towards him.
"I'll leave 당신 two alone to talk. Bella, if 당신 need me, I'll be right over here." Edward said as he guestured towards the corner where the 피아노 sat. Edward walked over to the 피아노 and started to look through some sheet music.
"Okay, well what is it Bells?" He asked me.
"Lets go down 의해 the river to talk." I said as I started to walk towards the door.
"Okay." Charlie said as he walked out the door with me.
We sped through the woods stopping as we came to a bunch of rocks jutting out of the surface of the earth.
"Okay, what did 당신 want to talk to me about?" Charlie asked sitting down on a big rock. I sat down 다음 to him.
"Dad, remember, about a 년 이전 when I ran away to go 집 to mom?" I asked taking in a deep breath.
Charlie nodded.
"Well, there was another vampire chasing me, he was a tracker, his name was James. He was wanting to kill me and if I hadn't of ran away, he would have come and killed 당신 and me both. I didn't really fall down two flights of stairs at the Cullen's house, James slammed me into a wall, then Edward tried to save me but james grabbed his foot and pulled him to the ground, therefore shattering a window. I cut my leg on a shard of glass, then he bit my wrist and before I could transform Edward sucked the venom out. He struggled to stop and I 로스트 alot of blood. And there was a girl with James, but she ran off." I said looking at the water.
"Bella, I had no idea. I'm just glad that you're okay." He said looking as if he would cry.
"Dad, I'm so sorry that I ran away again , I just needed to be with Edward. I 사랑 him, and I wanted to be with him for eternity, that's why he turned me. He didn't want to destroy my soul, but I wanted to live with him forever. He wanted me to stay human, he wanted me to stay whole, but I couldn't take the thought of me getting older every second. To me, every 초 meant one less 초 that I would be alive with Edward. If I hadn't had run off and become a vampire 당신 would still be a human. I'm sorry for that but I've made up my mind." I said looking at him sincerly.
"Bella, It's okay, you'll still be my daughter no matter what 당신 are. I don't care if I'm a vampire 또는 if you're one, right now all that matters is I get to spend eternity with my daughter and that you're happy with Edward." He said puting one hand on my shoulder.
"Dad, I've made up my mind, Edward proposed to me yesterday. I told him that I would need some time to think about it. But I'm gonna tell him yes." I said looking into his deep red eyes.
He took a deep breath and considered this.
"Okay, I mean, you're gonna be spending eternity with him anyway and 당신 two are really in love. So it's not my choice." He said surrendurring to my request.
"I 사랑 Edward ad nothing is going to change that." I said looking over into the water at my reflection.
"I guess not." Charlie said looing down at the rock that he sat on.
I looked over to a rock that sat beside me and picked it up then lghtly squeezed my hand into a fist. The rock crumbled, the texture of it reminded me of hard cottage cheese. Charlie looked up at the crumbled rock in my hand and his eyes grew wide.
"Carlisle said that we were strong but he didn't say that we were strong enough to crumble rock." He said as he picked up a rather large rock and crumbled it with both hands.
"Wow, I didn't know how strong I was. I guess I know now." I said in shock.
I dusted my hands off as Charlie did also.
"I wonder how I'm gonna 물고기 now." Charlie said as he watched a 물고기 swim by.
"I'm not sure." I said looking at the water beside me.
"I'll find out soon." He said stil looking at the river.
"Yea. Well I'm gonna head back to the house." I said getting up.
" Okay well I'm just gonna stay here and try to catch some fish. " He said looking up at me.
"Well good luck with that." I said as I disappeared into the forest.
I zoomed back to the house and Edward and Jacob were sitting on the 침상, 소파 talking. Jacob was shirtless, not a big surprise.
"Jacob, what are 당신 doing here?" I said as an expression of shock showed in my golden eyes.
"I came to apoligize. I'm sorry about what happened and I would really like it if we could get along without having to hate each other. Just because we are two different things now doesn't mean that we have to be rivals." He said, a look of hope on his face.
"Jacob told me that 당신 and him have known each other for a long time. I'm with Jacob, I think that we could get along." Edward said looking at me.
"Jacob, I need to tell 당신 something," I started but Edward interrupted.
"I told him about Charlie." Edward said.
"I'm glad that 당신 did what 당신 did, I just don't know how Billy is gonna to take this. They were best friends." Jacob said looking down. I hadn't thought about Billy. Poor Billy he decends from 늑대 and now his best friend is a vampire.
"I hadn't thought about this would effect Billy." I said looking back at Jacob.
"That's okay. It would have probally killed him if Charlie had actually died. We'll tecniclly he is dead but he's still alive well- 당신 know what I mean." Jacob said letting out a chuckle. Edward smiled at what Jacob had said.
"Yea I know." Edward said still smiling.
Carlise was comming down the stairs right as Charlie was comming back in.
"Jacob." Charlie said as a smile spread across his face.
"Charlie?" Jacob said standing up.
"Yea it's me, I guess Bella has already told you." Charlie said putting one hand in his back pocket.
Jacob spotted the bite mark on Charlie's neck and then looked over at me and spotted the same mark on my neck. 당신 can still see the mark clearly on Charlie and my neck because we have recently been turned.
Jacob took a deep breath.
"Yea actually Edward told me." Jacob said rubbing his neck.
"You must be Jacob, I'm Carlisle, the one who talked to 당신 on the phone before Bella and Alice jetted off to Volterra to save Edward." Carlisle said smiling calmly.
"Yea, I'm so sorry about the funeral missunderstandng over the phone that day. I didn't know that 당신 thought that Bella was dead." Jacob said keeping his hand over his neck as if to protect himself if someone in the room decided to take a bite out of him.
"Well continue talking, I was just here to tell Bella and Edward something." Carlisle said sliding past Jacob.
"What is it Carlisle?" Edward asked.
"Tommorrow a big thunder storm is comming in and I think 당신 know what that means." Carlisle said smiling.
Immediatly I thought about baseball, I remembered the first time
"Yes this will be Bella's first game since she's been turned." Edward said smiling that intoxicating smile of his.
"Well I'm going to tell the others." Carlisle said smiling and walking away.
Jacob and Charlie were still talking.
"Hey dad, Jacob is gonna try to come around more." I said looking towards Charlie.
"Yea, I am. Billy might come with me some, but I don't know how I'm gonna tell him that 당신 are a vampire now." Jacob said sighing and still rubbing his neck.
"Just make sure he's sitting down and bring it to him slowly.     He is my best friend and I don't want him to be afraid of me." Charlie said, putting his hands into his back pockets.
"Yea, well, I'm gonna go ahead and tell him. I'll come back down tonight sometime with Billy if he lets me drag him down here. 당신 know how stubborn he can be at times." Jacob said letting out a laugh after that last part.
"Yea he can be kinda stubborn." Charlie said letting out a chuckle.
"Well I'll see 당신 tonight sometime." Jacob said as he started to walk to the door.
"Good luck with Billy Jacob." Charlie said smiling.
"Bye Jacob!" Me and Edward chimed in, saying it at the same time.
"Bye Bella, Edward, Charlie." Jacob said nodding once and waving. We watched him run down the small 언덕, 힐 towards La Push.
"So Charlie, how do 당신 feel?" Edward said as he put his arm around my waist.
"I feel great. Although I am starting to get kinda thirsty again." Charlie said smiling.
"That's what I thought." Edward said smiling.
"We'll go hunting in a little while." I said as I looked up into Edward's deep golden eyes. I looked back at Charlie.
"Okay, Well I'm gonna go find Carlisle, I have a few 질문 to ask him." Charlie said heading off toward where Carlisle was.
"Edward, I've made up my mind." I said looking back up into Edward's eyes as he looked down into mine.
"About what?" Edward said smiling.
"About the 질문 당신 asked me the other day. Before we went to La Push and I acidentally ike to have gotten 당신 killed ." I said biting down on my bottom lip.
Edward took the little blue box out of his pocket and got down on one knee.
"Isabella Swan, will 당신 marry me?" Edward said as he opened up the little box revealing the silver ring cratering the blood red diamond.
"Yes." I said smiling and taking a deep breath. Edward's smile was threating yet again to make me melt he slid the ring onto my finger. Then he got up and I threw myslef into his arms as he swept me off my feet. Smiling, he put his arms around me hugging me close and said,
"I'll 사랑 당신 forever Bella. 당신 are my life now." He said quietly in his satin, velvet voice.
"I 사랑 당신 too Edward, and I always will." I said hugging myself closer to him.
Carlisle came into the room, a look of sorrow and concern on his face.
Edward read his thoughts.
"No!" Edward almost yelled as he put me down.
"What is it Edward?" I said very concerned.
"There has been three animal attacks in town, my collegue just paged me to come to the hospital." Carlisle said. As soon as he said 'animal attack', I thought about Waylon Forge. He was killed about two years ago, presumabaly 의해 an 'animal attack' but really it was a vampire who had killed him. Bad memories swarmed in my head.
"Edward 당신 need to tell her the rest, I need to get to the hospital to break the news to their families." Carlisle said urgently as he turned and rushed out the door.
"What is it Edward, what has happened!?" I asked him urgently with large amounts of concern in my voice.
"Bella, there has been three deaths in Forks due to 'animal attacks'." Edward started to say but I cut him off.
"Victoria." I breathed the word, I felt like all the air in me had been pushed out.
"Yes probally, but one of the people that was attacked, he was a good friend of yours since 당신 moved to Forks. It was Mike Newton he had picked up a few shifts at his family's store and he was closing up alone and, " Edward said but I finished his sentence.
"He never made it home." I sat down in the chair behind me. It took me a few 분 to take everything in. My mind flickered to the memories I still had of Mike, tucked away in the back of my head. His smile. His innocent baby face. His many attempts to get me to 날짜 him. I thought about Jessica, too. This won't be easy for her. Me, well… I’m going to have to get used to this type of thing now. This is the life I've chosen.
Now that I am different, cold, immortal, death will have to become something routine for me. Something I will deal with constantly. I knew that before I was turned. It’s not like I woke up one 일 and thought, 'I think I’ll get Edward to turn me into a vampire for the fun of it.' I knew the reality of it. The bad parts, and the good. I didn’t react to what Edward just told me, and I could see the confusion dominating his face. The truth is, I didn't know exactly how to outlet my feelings. As a human, 당신 just cry. It’s easy. Now, I just feel angry when I'm upset. Confused. I stared at the ring that Edward had just placed on my finger moments before this horrible news came and I felt guilty. I was so happy about Edward's proposal, when just a few miles away, Mike's family was in tears, crying their eyes out over their sons death. It didn't seem right for me to feel happy about something at such a sad time.
"I'm sorry Bella." Edward said putting his hand on mine as he leaned down and kissed the 상단, 맨 위로 of my head.
"I remember his attempts to get me to 날짜 him, how he would act nervous. I haven't seen him in so long those little memories are fading." I said as I looked up at Edward.
"Every little detail fades after awhile Bella, like my dad, I don't remember hardly anything about him now. Just like my mother I don't hardly remember anything about her either." Edward said looking down at me. He looked as if he would start crying if that were possible. He sat down in the chair beside me and put his hand over mine. I looked into his eyes and he smiled a smile of sympathy.
"I 사랑 당신 Edward." I said leaning my head on his shoulder. He put his arm around my shoulders.
"I 사랑 당신 too Bella." He said gently.
Charlie walked in through the door and looked at us skepticly.
"What's wrong?" Charlie asked very concerned.
"Mike Newton, one of Bella's 프렌즈 died from an animal attack, along with two other people." Edward said as I sat upright and took in a deep breath.
"O Bella I'm so sorry. I guess that means that the animal that killed Waylon is still out there. Killing inocent people." Charlie said with sympothy in his voice as he come and put his hand on my other hand.
"No dad, it's not an animal, it's Victoria James' mate, she is still on the loose." I said as fear started to creep into my voice.
"Yes that's who it is, it's got to be her." Edward said looking up at Charlie.
"So she has been the one who has been killing these people, the security guard down at Masen, the hiker, and now these three inocent people?" Charlie said looking confused.
"Yes. She has been surviving on a regular vampire diet of human blood, not animal blood." I said as I took a deep breath; I 빙어, 빙 어 something that I had not 빙어, 빙 어 before; it was another vampire, automatically Edward 빙어, 빙 어 it also and we were in a crouching position ready to strike, a low growl was building in his chest, our teeth bared.
"Charlie, it's Victoria. Bella, we need to rip her apart and burn the pieces if we don't try to do that now, her little killing spree will continue." Edward said looking at Charlie, then back at me.
This would be the first time that I would actually get to fight and maybe even kill another vampire. I hope that this goes easily. Victoria is dangerous. I watched her cat-like form moving outside the curtains. Edward and I, along with Charlie moved closer to the curtains. One we were outside Victoria was standing on the oposite side of us, her teeth bared.
"Victoria, leave now, this is three against one, Charlie and Bella are newborns we will have to destroy 당신 if 당신 don't leave peacefully." Edward said his eyes wide, and on Victoria. Jasper, Alice, Esme, Emmett, and Rosalie appeared 다음 to me and Charlie.
Victoria walked slowly towards me. Emmett and the others closed into a circle, growling perfusely.
"Victoria, if 당신 put one finger on my daughter, I will kill you." Charlie said, the redness in his eyes were almost glowing, it sounded strange hearing my father vow to kill Victoria if she put a finger on me, though Edward would probally be the first one to kill her. He is very protective of me.
Victoria reached out her hand to touch me and Edward grabbed it, twisting it she landed on the ground on her back, almost immediatly she got back up. Emmett went to grab her while Alice and Jasper were already making a fire. She ran towards me and I put my foot out in front of me it hit her stomach, quickly I grabbed her head, pulling it forward. Edward took her arms and I heard a sickening crackle followed 의해 a ripping noise. Two other figures stepped out from the shadows. One was quite tall, with oily black hair, wearing blue jeans and a black t-shirt, the other was very slim, with brown hair, wearing a gray t-shirt. Both of their eyes were a burning blood red; they were newborns.
"Victoria, told us what 당신 did to James, we are here to kill you." The brown haired boy said menacingly.
"Not if we can help it!" Emmett and Jasper said together as they raced forwards.
The newborns raced forward, as they collided, Charlie, Emmett, Rosalie, Jasper and Alice started biting into them taking out chunks, trying to weaken them down before they went in for the kill the two newborns were fighting back harshly. Edward ripped Victoria apart while I went to help the others. The brown haired boy kicked his leg around and threw Charlie into a tree. I quickly ran over to him, thankfully he was okay.
"I'm okay Bella go help the others!" Charlie said urgently.
He got back up and went over to one of the newborns while me and Edward went over to the tall dark haired newborn. I came up from behind and grabbed his head twisting it and then I gave it one tug and it just ripped off, Edward helped and we ripped him apart, then throwing him into the 불, 화재 where Edward had thrown Victoria. The rest of the Cullens were just now ripping the other apart, Charlie ripped his head off. They all came up the limbs, then rushed over and threw them into the fire. It was very quick, everythng happened fast.
"You won't have to worry about Victoria anymore." Emmett said strolling over to me and throwing one last arm into the fire. Edward looked satisfied that he finally destroyed Victoria and I was no longer in any danger what so ever.
"I can't believe that she created two newborns to destroy 당신 Bella." Rosalie said looking somewhat confused.
"She would go to any length she could, she hated me." I said looking at the 불, 화재 that blazed 의해 me. I pictured her in the 불, 화재 with her flaming red hair and cat-like figure. I shook the picture from my head. I thought about Mike, I needed to tell the others. I decided the time was now.
"Has Carlisle told 당신 about Mike." I said as a feeling of sadness washed over me.
"Yes he told us before he went to the hospital, I'm so sorry Bella." Jasper said softly.
"I know Mike was one of your good friends, but Victoria is gone now and she can't kill anymore inocent people." Alice said smiling sincerly. Edward put his arm around my waist.
"Yea I that's one good thing." I said still staring at the blazing fire.



When Carlisle came back Alice and Jasper explained what had happened and about the newborns. Rosalie and Emmett were in the 차고 fixing Emmett's Jeep. Something went wrong with the engine and a loud pop echoed through the house from the garage.



Later that night Jacob came, we let him in and Billy was right behind him.
Charlie came into the living room where me and Edward were talking.
"Charlie?" Billy said, his voice full of confusion, and terror.
