..."Pinestar's coming! Wake up, everyone!"
It wasn't even moonrise when Leopardfoot woke us up. I opened my eyes.
"Look! The runt's up!" Nightkit muttered to Mistkit.
"Enough!" Leopardfoot spat. "Your father is coming. Be on your best behavior!"
"...The tom is the weakest one..."
I heard the familiar voice of Featherwhisker as a silvery tom escorted a larger, red-brown tom through the bramble.
"Here they are!" the silver tom--Featherwhisker--mewed to the larger tom. "And look! They are awake!"
"Pinestar!" Leopardfoot exclaimed.
The red-brown tom--Pinestar--pressed his muzzle to my mother's. He then looked down at me and my sisters.
"They're beautiful!" Pinestar gasped. "You did a wonderful job!"
Leopardfoot nodded, purring.
"The black she-kit, the oldest, is Nighkit." Leopardfoot pointed at Nightkit.
"Hello, Nightkit," Pinestar bowed lightly to her.
Leopardfoot then pointed at Mistkit. "The pale-gray she-kit is Mistkit."
Pinestar pressed his muzzle to Mistkit's head. "Pleasure is mine."
"And this," my mother pointed at me, "is Tigerkit."
I meekly rose my head, too weak to stand.
"What's wrong with him?" Pinestar pressed.
"He's just tired," Leopardfoot replied. "Don't worry. It will wear off, soon."
Pinestar pressed his muzzle to my head. "StarClan, bless you," my father prayed.
"Who are you?" Mistkit questioned.
"He's Pinestar," Leopardfoot answered, "the ThunderClan leader. He's your father."
*ThunderClan leader?*
"How inspiring!" Nightkit gasped.
I nodded in agreement.
"No one needs your opinion!" Mistkit hissed.
Leopardfoot cuffed Mistkit lightly on the head. "Don't talk to your brother like that!"
Mistkit and Nightkit were whispering among themselves. I yawned heavily. The beast of hunger snarled, rippling through my stomach. Pinestar knelt close to me.
"Be strong, little on," my father whispered in my ear, "and maybe someday, 당신 will be a great Clan leader one day."
I nodded my head.
"I must go." Pinestar brushedhis muzzle against Leopardfoot's. "I will see 당신 soon." He then looked at me and my sisters. "See 당신 soon, little ones."
Pinestar backed away and inched towards the bramble tunnel.
*I need to speak!* "Bye!" I rasped, feeling like I swallowed thorns.
Everyone gasped. Leoparfoot's eyes glowed with a feeling of hope. "The runt speaks!" Mistkit exclaimed.
"How do 당신 feel?" Leopardfoot asked, quietly.
"Tired," I breathed.
"Well, go to sleep," my mother cooed. "You need rest, Tigerkit."
"Okay," I yawned.
I closed my eyes, remembering what Pinestar, my father, had told me. *"Be strong, little one, and maybe someday, 당신 will be a great Clan leader one day."*
*I will be strong!* I exclaimed in my head, as I once again fell into the darkness of sleep...
