I don't understand the 원, 동그라미 of parents.

It is assumed that the 원, 동그라미 is made ​​up of six people: Adam, Cassie, Diana, Faye, Melissa & Nick (or Jake), according to the show. Always say that BOTH parents of EACH ONE also had a circle, but 의해 adding, in total are twelve people, not six.. Can someone explain me plz??

In the 책 there are 12 families, and there is a possibility that for some reason the producers and director paired some of the 원, 동그라미 members together. Like Faye's parents, Diana's parents and Nick's parents = that means they are now only 3 families instead of 6. Also Cassie's mom supposed to be paired with Adam's dad - and that would be one family +...and I am pretty sure they wanted to stick with a number that is half of the families in the books, and that's why they separated Amelia/Ethan and Melissa's mom was married to some 랜덤 dude.
