Honestly, the movie was terrible compared to the book. The book was really in-depth and amazing, but the movie...not so much. I think Andrew Niccol, the director and screenwriter, could have done a much better job with everything. Plus, Saoirse Ronan (Melanie) should've brushed up on her 연기 skills a bit--lots of people at the movie theater were laughing at her bad 연기 because some of the scenes she did were just so fake and unrealistic.
I loved the movie just as much as i loved the book. I was like 읽기 the book for the first time all over again. Although the book went into a lot 더 많이 detail, and explored things 당신 couldn't see in the movie, i thought the film was an amazing representation of the book. The characters and settings mirrored how i pictured them in the book. All in all i thought the movie was as amazing as it could have been, while trying to fit 600 pages worth of 글쓰기 into a 2 시간 film, and i could not criticise it whatsoever.
I never saw the movie because I knew intuitively the book was better. The book made its point without the unneccessary violence. The film seemed loaded with gunplay and intergender fisticuffs which the talented Saoirse Ronan can do. Again, it wasn't needed. I think most true 팬 of the book should ask themselves what they're paying for.
