Brooklyn, directed 의해 John Crowley has received 3 Oscar nominations this year, including one for the Best Picture. It has been adapted from the novel 'Brooklyn' 의해 Colm Tóibín where a young Irish woman immigrates to Brooklyn and finds love.

Synopsis:
A young Irish woman named Eilis Lacey moves to Brooklyn in the 1950s, drawn 의해 the charm of America. There, she falls in 사랑 with an Italian-American man which brushes her initial homesickness away. However, soon she finds another young man from Ireland in 사랑 with her and must choose between two countries and two people.

The film stars Saoirse Ronan, Domhnall Gleeson and Emory Cohen among others. It has been written 의해 Nick Hornby.

Production:
The film was shot in Enniscorthy, Dublin and Wexford in Ireland and in New York in the States.
After the premiere of the film, there began a dispute over the distribution rights for the US, between The Weinstein Company, Focus Features and 여우 Searchlight Pictures. Eventually, 여우 Searchlight Pictures emerged victorious.

The film has grossed over 42.7 million USD worldwide. It has received largely positive reviews along with several BAFTA and Golden Globe nominations.
When Brooklyn first premiered at the Sundance Film Festival, it received a warm standing ovation. It has been appreciated as a film that tugs at the heartstrings but does not leave the mind dissatisfied either. It has been called one of the best films of 2015 and has also inspired a 텔레비전 spin-off(still under progress) 의해 the BBC.
