David Goyer, screenwriter for Superman: Man of Steel wrote the comic where Superman renounces his American citizenship. Now when Man of Steel was given to Christopher (The Dark Knight) Nolan to produce, reportedly Goyer came to Nolan with a new "twist" on the Man of Steel. Could this be it?
I admit, for ONE movie it might be interesting for Superman to be against the U.S. Army, the F.B.I. and so on.
