It seems counterproductive at first. If 당신 ignore them, 당신 can't defend yourself, right? But if 당신 truly do ignore them, completely and totally, it's probably the best way of defending yourself, although it's also probably the hardest.
When you're bullied, 당신 want to cry, 당신 want to scream at them, 당신 want to run off. But 당신 have to resist those impulses. 당신 can't even acknowledge these bullies' existence. It's really hard, I know. I carry a book around with me all the time, so if needed, I can pretend to be reading, and I won't react at all to them. Don't say, "Do I hear something?" 또는 anything that might acknowledge them in the slightest. It's hard, but 당신 won't need to do it for long. They'll usually stop after a very, very short time.
Why does this work?
They get bored. They do it to get a reaction out of you, and that is what impresses their 프렌즈 또는 satisfies them 또는 whatever it is they want, depending on the bully at hand. But if there is no reaction from you, they aren't impressing anyone, 또는 they aren't satisfying themselves, 또는 whatever they're after. They get bored.
