Do 당신 think that the Percy Jackson series is another Harry Potter knockoff?

Well I have found out that in an online interview with the author of Percy Jackson, it is said even though he made the first Percy Jackson in 1994, in 1997 he was influenced in many ways 의해 Rowling's Harry Potter Books, so he changed his story, he has agreed that he is also a 'Harry Potter' fan, when I found it out it made sense that Percy Jackson is similar to Harry Potter to the point of a rip off.

Percy and Harry both have troubles in school, and do not really understand why.

Both boys have prophecies that they have to face.

Both series have a final battle.

Both boys have inborn powers.

Both series have been turned into screenplays.

They both borrow off of mythology and old legend, but have original and interesting storylines.

Both have a hated teacher

Both have two friends,that are a girl and boy, also the girl is smart like Hermione, Grover has a journey mostly like Ron with Ron moments.

Both have a kind, wise, elderly mentor.

So 당신 seen there are a lot of things Percy took from Harry, it is kind of a rip off. Percy Jackson 책 were supposedly amazing, while it's film was messes up, so they accidentally got ride of important characters and destroyed the plot, while putting the things from the 2nd book into the movie as well, and other things, but until the trailer I didn't even know about Percy Jackson until the movie trailer, and most of my cousins,7 년 old brother, sisters, friends, parents didn't know about it, I didn't find out about it before on news, advertisement on the 책 until they made the movie trailer, I thought the movie was horrible and weak, unlike Harry Potter that is well known around the world and is loved a makes great films from the great books, never messes up, Percy Jackson is basically unknown compared to Harry Potter in popularity status.

Somewhat. Annabeth is so Hermoine-ish & Grover's like Ron sometimes. Halfblood (Demi-God) is somewhat like half wizard and half muggle. The halfblood camp is somewhat like Hogwarts. It's a neverending list of similarities.

Even such utter crap difference as Twilight, did it once, so something well written and good stuff, like the Percy Jackson serie, stands all the chances in the world.

Nothing can really knock HP off when it comes to the genre, in the end. Probably one essential reason is that Jo is not only a terrific writer, but the HP serie is easily enjoyable to all age groups. Very few series that I know of, seem to be the last mentioned.

NO WAY!!!!!!!!!! Rick came up with his idea while telling his son a story before bed. He chose the trouble in school thing, the ADHD thing, and the dyslexia thing, because his son has those problems. He wanted his son to see that people with problems can still do great things!!

No. Percy Jackson is simular to Harry Potter as Rick Riordan based some aspects of the story off it (mainly the first book) but the 글쓰기 style is so different and the characters progress in very different ways. The characters may look similar but Percy isn't as lanky and he doesn't have glasses. They both have "problems" in school but Percy is based offs Rick's son who also has ADHD and dyslexia (I 사랑 the PJ 책 because of this, my best friend has ADHD.) I wouldn't even call Grover a main character throughout the series while Percy and Annabeth are ALWAYS there. Also someone said Annabeth and Hermione are both unusual names. I don't think that's right Annabeth is actually pretty common. Ok yes Annabeth and Hermione are both smart but Annabeth is less emotional, is stronger, and falls in 사랑 with the main character instead of the funny sidekick. Also Percy and Harry's personalities are SO DIFFERENT. The conclusion? The 책 are similar but definitely not a ripoff.
