I agree with this. I dislike Thirteen, but it has nothing to do with that sex scene. I just don't like how she gets a disproportionately large amount of screentime, and thus far I haven't found Foreteen very interesting. I don't really have anything against the actual character as far as her personality and whatnot.
An US Weekly poll asked if people agreed with Olivia's assessment of why her character was disliked and 77% said "no".
"House viewers don't like Thirteen because she's a polarizing character, her relationship with Foreman is boring, and her unevenly written storyline has been given increased screen time at the expense of some of the characters who've been there longer and are better liked by viewers.”
“None of which is Wilde's fault,” adds Warn, “but I don't think it's due to the audience's homophobia (or biphobia), either. I think the only problem most viewers had with the gay sex scene was that it was edited down for broadcast - and that it hasn't occurred again.”
Thanks missy. Yes, i agree with what was said above about the hate being directed towards Thirteen because of her inordinate amount of screentime, not the biphobia.
I really liked thirteen last year. I wish her character could get back to where she was just a little bit. I get that knowing she has the disease hs changed her personality but I miss the fun moments she used to have with House.
I don't think she's disliked due to her bisexuality, I think people look at her as a scene stealer :D but they are getting more fond of her with every new episode
I like 13... she adds so much to the show
I find 13 and foreteen a complete snooze-fest and fast forward all of their scenes, the sooner her demise the better! I prefer to watch seasons 1,2 and 3 on my dvd player and it makes me so sad to see how things have deteriorated since we got the new crew, we need to get back to the formula that made House so great.
couldnt agree more with camylou ,I do exactly the same , 13 is bringing this show further down every week , her storyline is dire and her acting is worse , it has nothing to do with her character being bisexual which I find to be a insult for her to say that , doesnt she realise we are grown ups ,is she trying to undermine peoples inteligence the stupid woman..... there is so much more they could have explored about House , Wilson , Cuddy , any one of the others , I prefer Wilson's dog to her ,He was a better actor.its so bad I cant watch any scene her or Foreman are in unless its with the others or House , just the two of them alone are very very good for insomnia .
Quote .. but I miss the fun moments she used to have with House. Unquote....
what fun moments ? all I remember was an arragant and disrespectful new intern making snide remarks to the man who is supposed to be .. not only her boss and mentor but a brilliant diagnostician , I commented months ago that this didnt seem right and I comment on it again, why does every other character have more respect for House than she does , that is when I started to dislike her ... because the character was very false and obviously given this role to PROMOTE HER AND HER ALONE ,even at every other cast members expense and I mean everyone including House's character, I know its a programme and not real , but it has to be at least feasable , her speaking to House like she has done from day 1 is far from feasable ,any self respecting boss would have shown her the door , but someone at FOX apparantly thought her part wouldnt be big enough without this , why they dont just start calling it ..... 13 STARRING OLIVIA WILDE guest starring Hugh Laurie , it is bound to happen soon ...
I love House ... I REALLY DO ... , but if you watch the likes of ALL IN , OR AUTOPSY , THREE STORIES , EUPHORIA , there is just no comparison to the programme as it is today ,season 4 went downhill for me , but this season 5 apart from Hugh Lauries usual brilliance is a different programme entirely , half of it is fast foreward material only.
