Game Of Thrones’ Creators Revealed The Fate Of A Long Lost Character

Few television shows have done what HBO\'s megahit

has managed to pull off. The fantasy drama has successfully adapted a complicated and detailed series of novels, and has become one of the most watched and talked about TV shows of all time. Part of what makes

so exciting is its giant cast of dynamic characters. But because there are so many players in the Great Game, it\'s easy for some to slip our minds or fall through the cracks of our attention. This seems to be exactly what happened with one of Arya\'s OG buddies and Robert Baratheon\'s bastard, Gendry.

The last time we saw Gendry was back in Season 3, when Davos rescued him from the clutches of Melisandre, who was leeching his blood for rituals and sacrifices to the Lord of Light. Davos sent the bastard, who can\'t swim, away on a small boat, and we haven\'t seen or heard from him since. On a recent appearance on the UFC Unfiltered podcast,

creators D.B. Weiss and David Benioff have finally addressed his absence,

Benioff: Yes, he\'s still rowing. It\'s a long, a very long---

Benioff: He\'s getting in great shape. Think of the shape he\'s in after rowing for four seasons.

That\'s right. Apparently Gendry is still rowing and trying desperately not to fall out of the boat and drown. Four season later.

Of course, D.B. Weiss and David Benioff are just kidding with their statements, but it does bring up a question that fans have been asking for years: where the hell is Gendry?

The fate of Gendry has perhaps never been so important as it is in the current

timeline. Now that all three of the Lannister/ Baratheon children have bit the dust, there is no one to claim the Iron Throne, besides our homegirl Dany of course. As such, Cersei somehow managed to ascend the stairs and name herself Queen of the Seven Kingdoms. But if Gendry were to make a reappearance, he could perhaps be a threat to Cersei\'s claim. Sure, he\'s a bastard, but he\'s Robert Baratheon\'s son, which is actually more than Tommen or Joffrey could have ever said. And with the folks behind

bringing back so many long lost characters, smart money says that he\'ll finally be making a reappearance next season, and serve as a new enemy for Cersei.
