I think both male and female cancer survivors are hailed as 히어로즈 not just women with breast cancer so this isn't completely accurate

For some reason I got the idea that this was refering to the fight against it. Like how there is 더 많이 awareness for breast cancer than prostate cancer.
I think it's 더 많이 complex than that. Breast cancer is 더 많이 인기 because 당신 get to say "breast". It's sexual, and people like to think about innate womanhood in terms of sexuality. Prostates are sexual, but are often thought of such only within homosexual relationships. As homosexuality is so looked down upon, the prostate is thought of as only gross.
It's definitely worth feminist attention, but isn't a straight-up sexist thing.

Hm, that's pretty well thought out. I wouldn't have thought of that at all. Also, rape jokes get into the mix with prostate exams too, which is completely false and not to mention all kinds of wrong.
Surviving any kind of cancer is heroic, I don't know where this 코멘트 came from. Breast cancer gets 더 많이 media attention for one thing because women have had to fight to get women's health issues recognized and have organized around the issue. But also breast cancer deals with saving something many men see as incredibly valuable in women, "saving the tatas" as one campaign puts it, so it gets attention from men too. I think this combination is the reason breast cancer has a high visibility in the media.
For many, many years studies on all sorts of diseases were done on male subjects only, including 심장 disease, which led to the mistaken belief that 심장 disease is a man's issue and something women don't need to worry about as much.
But did 당신 know this: "Heart disease is the leading cause of death of women in the U.S. Almost every minute, a woman in the U.S. dies from 심장 disease. Nearly five times as many women (200,000) will die from 심장 attacks alone this 년 than will die from breast cancer."
Why is there not a bigger campaign for preventing 심장 disease in women? Why is breast cancer what gets 더 많이 media attention? 심장 disease kills 더 많이 women than breast cancer, isn't it sexist to focus on something that is seen as the only value women have, our sexuality? The focus with many campaigns is saving the breasts, not as much saving the life of the women they're attached to.
This 코멘트 breast cancer vs. prostate cancer sounds like a bunch of MRA bullshit 'reverse sexism' whining to me.
Another fact: "only eight percent of primary care physicians and 17 percent of cardiologists knew that 심장 disease kills 더 많이 women than men."
DOCTORS don't know that 심장 disease kills 더 많이 women than men...what does that tell you? That's just unreal.

Yeah, that is somethng to think about. They have had 심장 disease awareness before, but it was not directed towards women solely, but breast cancer has had the most awareness publicity than 심장 disease, you're right. I don't even see those 심장 disease awareness campaigns anywhere anymore. It's sad.
Just because 당신 survive breast cancer doesn't make 당신 a hero. It means you're strong, and you're a survivor, but seriously, 당신 didn't save lives, 또는 stop a war, 또는 do anything remotely heroic, so the whole idea of cancer surviving being heroic is just ridiculous.
Uhhh, excuse me if I'm wrong, but I never thought any type if cancer is 더 많이 heroic than any other kind. If 당신 ask me, anyone (and I've met people who have survived cancer) and I consider all those people, no matter what kind of cancer they survived, equally brave. I find it ridiculous that anyone would say something like that.
