They completely changed everything about the Little Mermaid - the story, the characters, the morals etc. With Frozen, they changed it so much it's barely recognisable as the original fairytale.

They did change a lot with The Little Mermaid, but yeah, with Frozen pretty much NOTHING is the same. There's no Gerda, no Kay, and NO EVIL SNOW QUEEN. What the heck, Disney?

at least there were some of the basics in little mermaid (meet the prince and lose your voice for legs only for him to fall for someone else), and the only thing frozen has in common with the snow queen is that there is someone with ice powers

If I didn't know that they were "inspired" by the Snow Queen, I would never have thought about it. It's just that it doesn't look anything like it! But yes, they also ruined the little mermaid, cinderella, rapunzel, beauty and the beast, snow white, etc.
