Yep, it's true! There is a special day for EdWin, celebrated by fans all over the world, and it's always the third day of the fifth month.

Why? There's actually a very interesting story behind this...

There is a brand of jeans called...I kid you not..."Edwin". And a big part of their logo is the number 503.

I don't know how, but Arakawa, the artist/writer/creator of FMA, knows that brand. She also knows that the fans' name for the Ed x Winry couple is EdWin. So she slipped in a sweet little nod to all us fangirls.

I don't remember which chapter it is, but there's this part in the manga where Ed, Al and Winry are all staying at a hotel. And the number for Winry's room is...you guessed it! 503! ^__^

So that's the couple's official number now. And to celebrate the awesomeness known as EdWin, fans everywhere celebrate it on May 3rd - or 5/03. That's how EdWin day came to be. <3

You don't have to do anything special if you don't want to, but I'm hoping to finish and post the next chapter of my EdWin fanfic today (or tomorrow), as well as a big, epic AMV I've been working on for ages. Fanfiction, fanart, videos, a rant on why EdWin is awesome, a batch of icons or a quick little doodle...you can celebrate any way you want! ^__^ Happy EdWin Day to everyone!
