For some reason I immediately thought of the Chinese New Year. They are pretty similar.

I didn't even think of Chinese New Year, but I still think New Years for her. New Years is a time of reflection, which is great for her since she literally has a song about it. She'll get to reflect over her past but not let it hold her back. She'll use it to make herself better. For New Years, you really set new standards for yourself which is what she did by the end of the movie.
