My choice must be shocking, right? Well, read this excerpt from Swanpride's article The most feminist Disney Princess movies and draw your own conclusions.

To quote from the review of Sleeping Beauty unshavedmouse wrote recently:

“Name me a big, blockbuster, mainstream film made in the last fifty years that has:
A predominately female cast.
Where none of the main female protagonists are young or conventionally attractive (this is if you consider Aurora to be a supporting character.)
Where they are not sexualised in any way.
Where the fact that they are women is simply incidental and in no way effects their competence.
Where the female protagonists are working with rather than against each other.”

So yes, I agree with this log. Ironic, since I consider Aurora to be the least feminist princess.

When you're commenting, please remember to state your reasons clearly.

I would say. While other DP films show some feminism, Mulan trumps all, imo. Women are not supposed to join the army, whether they want to or not. Mulan obviously breaks those boundaries and does it anyway. Yes, she has her struggles, but she proves she has the skill to do so.

And may we mention, in A Girl Worth Fighting For, Mulan says, "How about a girl who's got a brain.. who always speaks her mind?"

Ling, Chein Po, and Yao respond, "Nah."

That indicates to me most men in China do not think highly of women, except for a way to "bear sons," as said in Honor to Us All. It's pretty obvious throughout the movie, and most people know China was (and kinda is) all about honor. In every single way, I believe Mulan should be number one for most feminist DP movie.

Brave: Merida is an awesome heroine and the most feminist princess who is brave, defiant and powerful. I her movie, she barely interacts with men at all (just a witch and her mum) and those are the main reasons I consider it the most feminist.

I hope that this, Brave and Frozen are the top three. Mulan is a movie with more men than women, seeing as it takes place mainly in an army, but it's still a pretty feminist movie because she proves that she could succeed and bring honor to her family in her own way, even though her parents didn't think she could (they thought she was going to die out there).

I stick to my opinion that Sleeping Beauty is the most feminist movie, for the reasons already stated. Since the question is most feminist movie and not most feminist princess, there is no doubt about it. (And if either Brave or Frozen end up in the top 5, I'll scream...feminist is something else).
Here is by the way the link to the article in question:

How could a movie, proving how women can do anything, not win?
