Ariel is one of the stupidest princess I've seen. Giving up your voice for a guy you met once? That's just more than stupid!

The Little Mermaid, in my opinion. I feel like character development was focused on more in Mulan.

There is just a bunch of filler songs mainly. And I found a couple plot holes, first how did flounder get the the Prince Eric statue into the grotto? But like everyone is saying I don't think these should be the top 2 movies, I think Tangled Stronger and also Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs should be the top 2. I both are by far stronger then these two.

The Little Mermaid is just perfect, plain and simple as that.

The Little Mermaid is pretty close to flawless. It's only problem is the half-done message and some sloppy animation inconsistencies due to a tight budget, but at least everything always looks the same.
Mulan only has a couple issues, too, but they're more serious. One is plot issues due to WDAS's clear legalism of dealines that caused some rushed animation- in most of the cases, it's fine, but then you have the problem of the Chinese army suddenly dropping to twelve members. The other comes in the form of a small red dragon. I don't think they needed to totally get rid of Mushu, but they definitely needed to cut it down to only jokes that actually made sense in the context of the story and weren't just there to be there. It got distracting after a while, and there are definitely times you could accuse Mulan of having side-kick-itis.

The Little Mermaid is a great movie, but Mulan is my favorite DP movie and I think it should win this countdown.

I have to say Mulan. Even though TLM has a message that is not fully realized, I think Mushu is a bigger flaw. I do not think that Eddie Murphy should have been cast (a black man voicing a dragon in a fully-realized Asian world is quite distracting). It would be another thing if he was not as obnoxious. This movie does suffer from sidekick-itis, but not as much as Pocahontas. The consistency of the soldiers is kind of iffy

TLM is pretty consistent. Almost everything goes together- the animation, humor, etc. Of course they should have made Ariel more vocal about the lesson she learned so maybe people wouldn't think she learned absolutely nothing, but it was pretty carefully made, although there's bits and pieces I could complain about.

As everyone else pointed out, Mushu kind of drags the movie down. I think he's hilarious but if I'm to be objective, I'd admit that his humor distracts from the very serious tones of war. They obviously did some of that on purpose but could have toned it down.

I wish Sleeping Beauty and SW had made it up here. Maybe I'm biased but I think both are so well made. I might be blind but I don't see as many plotholes in SB as people say there is. I probably AM being biased here but I wish Aladdin hadn't left so soon.

Just as I predicted, the final showdown is between TLM and Mulan. I'll pick the Little Mermaid because I think Mulan had more work put into it.

None of those should win...I can't believe that all the really strong movies got voted out.

Audrey Freak: I agree, Sleeping Beauty should still be here....as should Beauty and the Beast. Those two movies are something Special, even in the very strong Disney Canon.

It's my favourite movie, but I just feel that Mulan is a stronger movie all-round

AudreyFreak- I think Sleeping Beauty and Snow White should be in the top three, too. I'd put The Little Mermaid in the top three too, though, so I'm not to upset with The Little Mermaid winning (which it looks like it will.)
