SweetPea2007 picked Maurice:
15.Cassim
14.Prince Naveen's Father
13.The King

He is oblivious of his daughter and what is going on in her life and because he is so scattered brained he has become the child and she has become his "parent"....He does not "take care" of her and has no idea that she is being stalked and harassed by Gaston and does not "protect" her at all....

Meh Triton could at least calmly talk to Ariel about the human world without destroying her stuff.

I honestly can't remember him having any interaction with his daughter. I don't think he would be a bad father, but he certainly doesn't seem to do much.

He was forcing marriage and forcing it NOW. At least the other marriage forcers (and there's a few) gave their kids more than a night to pick a stranger for a spouse.

Hmmm, he's not the worst father, but since I never saw much of him I can't really judge him.

Triton may have anger management issues, but he's still has some fatherly qualities to him, he sacrificed himself and his throne for Ariel, and would even abuse a few of his subjects to search for his daughter. Not exactly ruler material, but there still something fatherly about him.

King Hubert at least was ready to call the marriage off (he was in the process of speaking to Stephan when he fell asleep), and he thought that this was a good match for Phillip. You can hardly fault him for thinking the way people did during his time.
Him on the other hand...does he even DO parenting aside from telling Pocahontas who to marry? He doesn't even ask her if she is okay after she supposedly got attacked in the woods and Kokoum died.
In fact, there are a lot of fathers who have to go, because they either leave their children to care for themselves (Maurice, The Sultan) or just leave the parenting to their wife (Fergus). For example, what's wrong with General Li? Shang turned out fine, and he obviously loves his son and trust in his abilities.

Nothing's wrong with him, I just haven't seen enough of him to judge his fatherly abilities, but good point anyway.

Triton is on my to go list, too, btw....to his credit, he tries, and my issue is not really with how he handles Ariel, but mostly how he treats his other daughters. You should never favour one child so much over the others.

snickerz- he DID, several times but Ariel didnt ever listen, she just did what she wanted.

pretty much what swanpride said. he always came off as an intimidating dad to me... i kind of half expect him to hit Pocahantas when he yells at her...

seriously hope Tritan and Maurice dont go, they are good dads!

SweetPea2007 picked Maurice:
girlygirlspwn how is Maurice a good Dad? He was oblivious of what she was doing and should have been standing up for her instead of being focused on his "inventions". Yeah he was sweet and loving but a teenage daughter needs more then that especially if she has no mother..she needs rules, regulations, someone who is concerned enough about her to keep her focused on what is important in life and try to keep her on a good path...
Stereotypically the Mother does the "raising" and the father does the spoiling and back up disciplining...but when the child lost the mother the father needs to step up and be mom too and not just let the child do what they want and raise themselves...a good parent is not just supportive of everything a child wants but also needs to guide and keep the child aware of everything and how their actions not only affect themselves but everyone around them...
