For me, personally, this song became DE's trademark. Someone once said 'If Stefan is Elena's harbor, then Damon is her ocean. Ships are 안전한, 안전 in a harbor, but that's not why they were built' The way I interpret the song, is it's about jumping into the unknown and that can be scary. The ocean can be dangerous, can't be tamed, it's not safe. So I'm eagerly waiting for Elena to leave her 안전한, 안전 harbor and jump into the ocean.
