Ahh Christmas. The tree, the stockings, the mistletoe and - of course - the holiday 텔레비전 programming.

Back when I was a kid watching 크리스마스 specials on TV, Mrs. Claus was invariably portrayed as a sweet but dowdy older woman of slightly plump stature. She could cook a mean pie and reminded 당신 of your Grandma. Of course, we loved her and so did Santa.

But did 당신 ever wonder what Mrs. Claus might have looked like when she was younger? I mean, I assume she must've be smokin' (natch).

So why is it that so many of the classic holiday programs show us a Santa Claus surrounded 의해 androgynous little elves and a matronly Mrs. Claus? I mean, it's cold up at the North Pole. Surely Santa isn't adverse...

But remember that 크리스마스 is not just about the presents 또는 the food, although it is the best part lol, it is about family, 프렌즈 and santa.

So spread the joy and 사랑 that this season brings, spread it to everyone that 당신 know and maybe even to those that 당신 don't. Have a great 크리스마스 :)

O 크리스마스 tree, O 크리스마스 tree!
How are thy leaves so verdant!
O 크리스마스 tree, O 크리스마스 tree,
How are thy leaves so verdant!

Not only in the summertime,
But even in winter is thy prime.
O 크리스마스 tree, O 크리스마스 tree,
How are thy leaves so verdant!

O 크리스마스 tree, O 크리스마스 tree,
Much pleasure doth thou bring me!
O 크리스마스 tree, O 크리스마스 tree,
Much pleasure doth thou bring me!

For every 년 the 크리스마스 tree,
Brings to us all both joy and glee.
O 크리스마스 tree, O 크리스마스 tree,
Much pleasure doth thou bring me!

O 크리스마스 tree, O 크리스마스 tree,
Thy candles shine out brightly!
O 크리스마스 tree, O 크리스마스 tree,
Thy candles shine out brightly!

Each bough doth hold its tiny light,
That makes each toy to sparkle bright.
O 크리스마스 tree, O 크리스마스 tree,
Thy candles shine out brightly!

If 당신 want to wish "Merry Christmas" to someone in Greece, then 당신 should say: Kala Hristouyienna.

If 당신 want to wish "Happy New 년 " to someone in Greece, then 당신 should say: Kali Hronia.

For "Happy New 년 Day" in Greek 당신 should say "Kali Protohronia".

If your friend is called Manolis 또는 Hristos, his nameday is on December 25 (Christmas day). Wish him "Hronia Polla" (Many Happy Returns) for his nameday.

The same applies if your friend is called Vassilis, Yiannis 또는 Fotis. Vassilis nameday is on January 1, Fotis' nameday is on January 6, Yiannis' nameday is on January 7.

During 크리스마스 holiday period, which lasts from December 24 until January 6, plus a couple of weeks past that, it is a custom in Greece to wish "Hronia Polla" to the people 당신 meet. So, if 당신 meet someone in the morning, the proper way to greet him 또는 her is: Kalimera, Hronia Polla! (Good morning, Many Happy Returns).
Quite a pleasant tune to listen to.

Since I had done with my favourite 크리스마스 films, now it's the famous Oratorios composed 의해 famous classical composers.

1) The Messiah 의해 George Frederick Handel

This oratorio premiered in Dublin, Ireland and it's the first oratorio to be performed in English. Which was unusual at that time.

2) Alexander's Feast 의해 George Frederick Handel

Although this oratorio is link to Alexander the Great, it's 음악 sounds very 크리스마스 oriented and it is highly recommend for both 크리스마스 and Handel 팬 alike!

3) St. John's Passion 의해 Johann Sebastian Bach

Santa Claus, also known as Saint Nicholas, Father 크리스마스 and simply "Santa", is a figure with legendary, mythical, historical and folkloric origins who, in many western cultures, is said to bring gifts to the homes of the good children during the late evening and overnight hours of 크리스마스 Eve, December 24. The modern figure was derived from the Dutch figure of Sinterklaas, which, in turn, may have part of its basis in hagiographical tales concerning the historical figure of gift giver Saint Nicholas. A nearly identical story is attributed 의해 Greek and Byzantine folklore to Basil of Caesarea....

I really think 크리스마스 is a magic time of the year! Even though I am starting to grow up (I am sixteen), I always become a little child again when 크리스마스 is near, and go playing in the snow, waiting for Santa (Dad) with my little, and big, cousin, baking, meeting near and dear and just enjoy the moment and life.
I mean, do 당신 really do that in the same way any other time of the year? Because I dont think so...
And the 크리스마스 music- wonderful! :)
I think people in general becomes nicer when Christmas, and for a season to have the power to make people nicer- that I call pure magic!!! :D

The shepherds went their hasty way,
And found the lowly stable-shed
Where the Virgin-mother lay:
And now they checked their eager tread,
For to the Babe that at her bosom clung,
A mother song the Virgin-mother sung.

They told her how a glorious light,
Streaming from a heavenly throng
Around them shone, suspending night!
While sweeter than a mother's song,
Blest 천사 hearlded the Saviour's birth
Glory to God on high! and Peace on Earth.

Santa Kitty,

And that

Santa Kitty,
So scurry down the chimney tonight.

Santa Kitty,
A ten-pound bag of cat food, too,
From you.
I’ve been an 앤젤 all year,
Santa Kitty,
So scurry down the chimney tonight.

Think of all
The 음식 I’ve missed.
Think of all the items on
My people’s grocery list.
They really have been
Mean to me.
It takes a lot of food
To feed a cat like me!

Santa Kitty,
Slip a 우유 bowl under the tree
For me.
I’ll stay up for you, dear
Santa Kitty,
So scurry down the chimney tonight.

Santa Kitty,
I need something to chase ’round...
