“What did 당신 do with Becca?!” Robin shouted. “Who are you?!”
“Becca belongs to me, Robin. She use to, anyway. As for who I am, the name is Slade.”
“Batman's fought you.”
“Indeed. I was always so disappointed when 당신 never showed with him.”
“Why?”
“You are quite the dedicated hero. It would have been fun to beat 당신 again and again.”
“Slade,” Prendere said.
“Alright apprentice. I have broken him enough for one day.”
“You killed Becca?!”
“No. Who said anything about killing? We had a disagreement. I compromised and she became what 당신 see before 당신 now. Prendere and Becca are one in the same.”
A gasp ran throughout the team, each stunned as the appearance changed from Slade's apprentice to Becca Stevens.
“Becca?”
She looked away, changing back to her apprentice form. Slade put a hand on her shoulder.
“Becca is as alive as I am. We 스톨, 훔친 no power, just Becca's pride. We didn't kill her; just tamed her. 당신 see? This girl is as willing and trained as a 강아지 dog. I'll show you. Becca, fetch me one of the hidden gifts.”
Becca nodded and, using acrobatics they had never seen before, Becca retrieved a small snow globe. She landed softly, handing it to Slade with her head bowed.
“Here, my master.”
Slade took the object looking at it. He handed it back to Becca, who set it in front of the team. A green, cage like structure surrounded them.
“Don't try escaping. That's made with kryptonite fire. Upgraded 의해 your darling bird.”
Slade turned, entering the darkness. Becca turned to follow but stopped when Robin called to her.
“What are 당신 doing Becca? We came to save 당신 and this is how we're treated? I thought 당신 were good. I never pictured 당신 as the evil type.”
Becca shut her eyes, cringing.
“You're right Robin. I'll never be good enough for you! No matter how hard I try, no matter what I do, no matter that I was saving your life, I'm never good enough!”
Becca ran into the shadows. She ran in them until she reached a room encased in darkness. She entered, looking around. One word to describe the room would be creepy. It was filled with all kinds of magic necessities and bedroom “appliances”. She slammed the door shut, falling onto the bed. She cried for all the wrong she had done. Hands soothed her hair. Becca looked up at a girl, an exact image of Becca in her apprentice form. Except this girl was wearing black and red instead of white.
“Becca. You're crying.”
“Yes.”
“Tell me. Why does my Becca cry?”
“I've done wrong. Everything has happened because of me. I never wanted to become this way. I never wanted to loose everything. I never wanted to fall in 사랑 with him.”
“Why not?”
“Because no matter what, I'm always consumed 의해 darkness. He is consumed in light.”
“He is a hero Becca. And 당신 once were too.”
“That's changed.”
“Has it? Becca, that story was always yours to write. None of this would have happened if 당신 hadn't fought.”
“I was trying to survive, Shiera!”
“Not that. 당신 fought and lost. Becca, it's time to face your inner demons.”

Robin sat with his back to the cage. He looked around at his friends. Megan and Connor were sitting in a corner, Megan trying to keep Connor alert. Artemis and Wally sat in another, trying to be comforted. Kaldur and Jade sat in the third corner, talking quietly. Red X, also known as Erin Mavis, sat in the center, doing whatever she was doing. Devin sat 다음 to her brother.
“I didn't mean for her to react that way, Dev,” he whispered.
“I know. There is a lot that 당신 could not expect. Becca is a mystery to you. But 당신 still 사랑 her. Isn't that all that matters? 또는 is there something else that bugs you?”
“Becca is...cautious about everything. I want her to trust me, but she fears that. She fears trust.”
