Downton Abbey's Lily James looks unrecognisable at Cinderella premiere as she transforms into a princess

The actress looked like a fairytale vision as she stepped out at the enchanting screening on Sunday

Lily James is ready for the ball if her gorgeous outfit is anything to go by.

The Downton Abbey actress plays Disney princess Cinderella in the new live action adaptation of the classic fairy tale, and she looked every part a princess at the premiere on Sunday.

Lily underwent a transformation fit for a Fairy God Mother and went to the ball in Los Angeles to attend the first screening.

She stunned in a silver and blue gown which went into a sweeping train at the bottom of the dress.

Disney were recently forced to digitally altering Lily\'s figure in the movie and insisted the slim frame was down to her "wearing a corset".

After the latest trailer was released last month many fans and viewers took to Twitter to express their shock and anger at \'just how unrealistic her waist looked

But Walt Disney Pictures have so far denied that the trailer and promotional images had been digitally altered in post production to make Lily\'s waist appear smaller.

According to Buzzfeed, a source from Disney said: "Lily\'s waist hasn\'t been altered (in the film or in any stills/marketing materials) – she\'s wearing a corset."

A rep for James also told Buzzfeed that the look was achieved by a corset, and while a corset expert also said the waist shown is attainable it "doesn\'t mean that it wasn\'t helped" in post-production.

People have been heavily critical at just how realistic it was for the corset to be so effective, especially for it to be so consistent with every costume the actress wears in the trailer.

From the iconic blue dress, to her cleaning dress rags Lily\'s waist stays ridiculously small.

Actress Sarah Ann Masse tweeted: "This isn\'t a normal human sized waist, right?

While another user exclaimed: "This waist is unreal!"
