“ I'm going to miss you”. My mother told me before I boarded the plane to Washington State. Two months 이전 I had agreed to 옮기기 to Forks to live with my father Charlie, to give my mother and her husband Phil some space. I hadn't seen Charlie in forever. When I was little I used to visit him every summer but that stopped around when I was 13. I still kept in contact with him though.
My Father picked me up from the airport. Oh, and did I forget to mention it was in his police cruiser. Great, how much 더 많이 embarrassing could it get. I'd forgotten that he was the police chief, the whole town was probably anticipating my arrival. “Wow I haven't seen 당신 in a while, Bella. You've grown a lot.” Charlie said on the ride there. I just simply nodded and stared 앞으로 into traffic. Forks was a small and gloomy town. There wasn't much to expect when it came to the weather, except for rain.
의해 time we arrived at the house it was already 5pm. The house was just like I'd remembered it. We pulled into the driveway, and I noticed that there was already another car parked in front of the house. It looked like an old Chevy , it was a rusted red colour. “Bella do 당신 remember Billy Black?” he asked as he stepped out of the car. Billy Black... I recognized the name faintly.
“ Wait, do 당신 mean Billy who 당신 always used to go fishing with?” I volunteered. Charlie smiled, I must have been right. I remember Billy had twin daughters, Rachel and Rebecca. Though every time they came up, Charlie and Billy always expected us to get along. But since they were older than me they always ignored me and suggested I play with their younger brother Jacob.
“Yes, that's the one.” Charlie told me. “Billy's son rebuilds cars with old parts. Anyways they said that 당신 could have this one.” Charlie continued, pointing to the pick-up truck. “ It's sort of a welcome 집 gift.” charlie finished excitedly.
“Really! Thanks Dad. 당신 didn't have to.” I replied thankfully. It was already getting late, so we decided just to order in pizza. After eating Charlie sat down to watch some TV, and I headed up to my room to unpack my stuff. My room was basically purple, with various shades. I unpacked my clothes into a few of the empty drawers and turned my computer on and checked tomorrow's weather forecast. Yes! It was going to be 62.6 Fahrenheit (17 Celsius). It was the only nice 일 within the 다음 week. I ran downstairs, to find my father exactly where I'd left him. “ 저기요 Dad, do 당신 mind if I go around and see the town and the high school tomorrow?” I asked him. He muted the TV and turned around.
“Yes, of course. That's probably a good idea, but I have to go up to the station tomorrow so you'll have to do that on your own.” he responded, while un-muting the TV.
“That's okay” I responded to the air as I walked back upstairs to my bedroom. I layed down on my 침대 figuring I should probably get some sleep. I dozed off a few 분 later.
I woke to the sound of an alarm clock, that I never set. It was 9:00 am. I hopped out of 침대 and went downstairs. I guess Charlie never went up to 침대 because he was fast asleep on the 침상, 소파 with the TV on a low volume. On the 부엌, 주방 counter there was a box of cereal. After searching through the cabinets I finally found a bowl. I poured myself some cereal and grabbed a spoon. I guess the noise must have woken Charlie up because he turned off the TV and joined me at the 부엌, 주방 table. “Morning, Bella.” Charlie greeted me. “Your still going to look around town today right?” He asked me.
“Yes, I'm going to leave after I get dressed.” I told him, as I placed my bowl in the dishwasher. “And Thanks again for the car.” He nodded. I went back to my 침대 and through on a pair of black sweat pants and a light yellow tee. I packed a backpack with a bottle of water and a sweater just in case I got cold.
I said bye to Charlie before leaving. I swung open the door to see someone standing as if they were about to knock. He stuck out his hand and said “Hi I'm Jacob Black I'm not sure if 당신 remember me. I came 의해 to welcome 당신 back and ask what 당신 think about the car.” He said, as I stepped outside to 가입하기 him. This was the little boy that I used to make mud pies with. I laughed silently to myself.
“I was just leaving 당신 can 가입하기 me if you'd like, I'm just going to look around the town.” I responded. He nodded and joined me in the passenger seat.
