Chapter 4. Half-Breed

"Yea it's me, I'm guessing Jacob already told 당신 why I'm like this." Charlie said walking towards Billy.
"Yea, I told him everything." Jacob said looking at Billy.
"You look like you're doing alright." Billy said, and then he saw me, 의해 his expression, I'm guessing Jacob didn't tell him about me.
"Bella?" Billy said in shock.
"Yea umm I kinda didn't tell him about 당신 Bella." Jacob said, his cheeks were getting red.
"Yes, it's me Billy, I'm a vampire too." I said trying to keep him calm.
"But why are 당신 one of them?" He asked still staring, Charlie looked back at me.
"Well, I'm the reason Charlie is a vampire, I wanted to stay with Edward forever, and he refused to change me. So I came up here and I put my mortality to a vote and most of them said yes. Carlisle was going to change me, but then I asked Edward to do it and he said yes I was unconsious for three days, the venom was horible. They sent out a 검색 team for me. Charlie got mad and came over here to take me 집 and I refused, he was going to hit Edward but I stopped his fist mid-hit, therefore breaking a couple of 본즈 and one punctured a critical vien, but before I would let him die, I told Carlisle to change him." I said as Edward stood up along with me and put his arm around my waist and kissed the 상단, 맨 위로 of my head.
"If Bella hadn't told Carlisle to change me, I would be dead, well actually I am dead, but I'm still ali- O well 당신 get what I mean." Charlie said scratching his head.
"Yea I do.Thank 당신 Bella for not letting him go, I don't think I could take that, I mean sure, you're a vampire, but I won't let that come between our friendship." Billy said looking at me then back at Charlie.
"No problem." I said looking at Billy as Edward put his arms around me from behind and kissed the 상단, 맨 위로 of my head, I put my hands on his.
"Well we are just going to leave 당신 two to talk." Edward said smiling.
"Yea, I saw Emmett out in the woods yesterday and he said that he wanted me to drop 의해 becuse he wanted me to help fix something so I'm just gonna go find him." Jacob said pointing out towards the 차고 before he ran off.

Charlie and Billy talked for a good three hours then Jacob came back into the living room and told Billy that they needed to go because it was getting late. Edward and I walked back into the living room, we had been in the 부엌, 주방 discussing how we would tell everyone about our engagement.
"Hey umm Bella, I'm starting to get thirsty again, can we go hunting?" Charlie said scratching the back of his head.
"Uh yea we were just comming in here to ask if 당신 wanted to go hunting with us." Edward said looking at me then back at Charlie. This would be the first time that Charlie had hunted with anyone other than Carlisle.
We ran a good distance into the woods when we spotted a small herd of deer. Charlie stood over beside us with a look of guilt on his face, me and Edward were just going in for the kill when a feeling of guilt washed over me. I felt like I couldn't harm a living creature, no matter how thirsty I was. I looked over at Edward and he looked the same way. Edward looked over at Charlie and read his mind. I grabbed Edward's hand and read his thoughts.
Charlie doesn't want to see 당신 attack and drain the life out of a poor inocent deer. Edward read off of Charlie's mind. I figured out Charlie's talent at that moment and so did Edward. I let go of his hand.
"Dad, stop concentrating on us for a second." I said and Charlie looked away.
The feeling disappeared and Edward and grabbed our meal before Charlie looked back at us.

After we ate we went back to the house, Edward and I needed to talk to Charlie.
"Charlie, we've figured out what your talent is." Edward said looking at me then back at Charlie.
"What is it?" Charlie said skeptically.
"Well, when we were in the woods hunting, there was a reason that I told 당신 to stop concentrating on me and Edward." I said looking at Charlie. My body was starting to tingle; I blew it off and thought nothing of it.
"When 당신 concentrate on someone hard eneough, 당신 can make a feeling of guilt wash over the person, making them unable to harm anything 또는 anyone." Edward said looking deep into Charlie's deep crimson red eyes.
"It's li-" I started to say, but a deep pain surged through my body I took in one deep breath and then everything went black, the ground swirled in to my face and the last thing I heard was Edward calling Carlisle before everything went black. Then I sunk into a painful sleep.





I woke up to the sound of a beeping noise in Carlisle's 'minature' hospital in the upstairs portion of the house. I had no idea how long I had been asleep, I thought I would never sleep again, so this would probally be the last time I woke up again. I looked down and there was an IV in my hand something was wrong. The first person I saw was Edward but something was missing, immediatly I sat up.
"Edward!" I said alert and not calm, the pain returned and I layed back down to ease the pain. It had felt like someone had attacked me.
"Carlisle!" Edward yelled alarmed.
"Edward, why am I hurting so bad?" I said through the pain that still surged through my body.
Carlisle appeared in the room.
"You're awake, good. Edward I think 당신 might need to tell her what happened, 당신 were there with her and she might take it a little better if 당신 told her." Carlisle said, a look of sorrow on his face.
"Bella, you've been attacked, Victoria had a twin sister, Laraun and she was angry that we destroyed Victoria, she wanted payback. She can reverse the power of vampire venom and make a vampire half vampire and half human; that's her talent and that is what she has done to you. After that she grabbed one of the knife's out of the 부엌, 주방 and ripped a giant hole in your back, It might have damaged 당신 spinal cord, and a good three inches of the 칼, 나이프 broke off into your back. She also tried to kill Charlie." Edward said. My Brain focused on one word, Charlie; she tried to kill Charlie. I winced at the pain that still surged through my body. Edward cringed away at the sight of me in pain.
"Charlie- is he okay?" I said franticly through the pain.
Carlsile was pumping fluid through a clear medicine bag that was attached to the IV.
"Yes Bella, her talent didn't work on him, it works on very few 뱀파이어 all he has is a few cuts.
"How do 당신 feel Bella?" Carlisle said as Edward held my hand.
"I'm hurting; bad. I'm human now?" I said as tears filled my eyes. The only reason I ever changed into a vampire and went through all of that pain was for Edward so we could be together forever, and now I wasn't going to live forever.
"Only half human half vampire; a half-breed. I've done some reading, and your still immortal, your 심장 has restarted itself and is pumping blood again and your tear ducts are working again. Your skin is now warm, but not completely hot as a normal human's would be. Instead of sparkling in the sunlight, your skin gives off a glow and it is as strong as a vampire's. Your eyes are still golden and 당신 are still very, very strong like a vampire. So basically, 당신 are still one of us but 당신 just have some human traits now." Carlsile said looking worried that I was crying.
"I'm still immortal? I'll never change again?" I said as 더 많이 tears rolled down my cheeks.
"No Bella, you'll never change again, 당신 are 겨울왕국 in time as 당신 are right now. Even if your 심장 for some reason stops, you'll still live, 당신 will never die. Isn't that what 당신 wanted?" Edward said as he held my hand.
"Oh no Edward!" I said as I reached around- fighting through the pain- and hugged Edward. I squeezed my eyes shut to maybe survive the pain. The horrible stabbing pain raced through my body. I layed back down almost immediatly
"What's wrong Bella?" Edward said concerned of my strange mood as he wiped the tears from my eyes.
"I though that when 당신 said 'half human and half vampire' I thought that meant that I wouldn't be immortal anymore and I wouldn't get to spend eternity with 당신 like I want too." I said, still fighting the pain that surged through my body as I winced.
"Oh Bella, 당신 are still going to be able to spend eternity with me, if 당신 had died, instead of bieng turned into just half human, I couldn't live. I 사랑 You. There is nothing that can rip me away from you. Nothing can come between us." Edward said as he kissed the 상단, 맨 위로 of my forehead.
"Without you, I have nothing to live for." Edward said looking into my revived soul.
"I 사랑 당신 too Edward." I said looking deep into his eyes.
He sat down in the chair beside the 침대 and continued to hold my hand as if to say, 'I'm here Bella and I'll never leave your side.' That made some of the pain go away. But there was one 질문 left.
"What about Victoria's sister?" I said with large amounts of concern in my voice as I took my other hand and wiped a tear from my eye.
"Emmett and Jasper 빙어, 빙 어 Laraun and came to destroy her, but right after 당신 passed out she ran away, I wanted to help them hunt for her, but I was too concerned about you." Edward said looking at Carlsile, who was taking my pulse.
"Where is Rosalie, Alice, and Esme?" I said curious.
"They went shopping after we got back from hunting. They don't know about this yet." Edward said looking back at me.
"Bella, I need to sew your back up ,get that 칼, 나이프 tip out, and see what other damage she has done. I just put some steri strips on The gash to 봉인, 인감 it so 당신 wouldn't loose anymore blood than 당신 already have. I'm going to put 당신 to sleep for awhile. Edward will still be right here 의해 your side when 당신 wake up." Carlisle said as Edward put both hands on mine.
"I 사랑 당신 and I'll be here when 당신 wake up." Edward whispered as he kissed my forehead. Carlisle started pumping 더 많이 clear liquids down the I.V. My eyes started to feel heavy, then everything went black as I drifted off into a deep sleep.




I woke up to the annoying beeping sound. Immediatly I looked over and Edward wasn't there, I paniced. I sat up and looked around, I was alone. Pain shot up my back and into my whole body I layed back down helplessly.
"Edward, Carlisle!" I nearly screamed, Carlisle appeared 다음 to my bed.
"Bella, what's wrong?." Carlsile said alarmed.
"Where's Edward!?" I said franticly.
"Laraun has come back and she has taken Charlie. He went with the others to try to find them, Jacob and his 프렌즈 are outside surrounding the house in case she comes back here." Carlisle said soothingly. Tears rolled down my cheeks.
Charlie- she took Charlie and Edward is looking for that deranged, crazy, maniac of a vampire.
"She took Charlie?!" I said as a mixture of anger and worry came into my voice. 더 많이 tears streamed down the side of my face, I took my hand and wiped them away, as I lifted my arm, pain surged into my back.
"Yes, but Edward and the others will find them. Okay? Don't worry, 의해 tonight Charlie will be back, trust me, Edward knows how much 당신 사랑 Charlie, and he will find him no matter what. Just don't try to get up okay? I don't want those stitches comming out." Carlisle said with sympothy in his voice. He placed his hand on my shoulder.
He saw the panic creeping back into my eyes.
"Everything is going to be okay. I'll go get Jacob, he has been very worried about you." Carlsile said as he walked out of the room. Charlie was gone. Why did I have to be so selfish. If I hadn't of made the choice for Edward to turn me, we could still be at 집 watching baseball on the flatscreen and eating cobler every afternoon at the diner. Carlsile stepped into the room with Jacob in tow.
"Bella are 당신 feeling okay?" He said as he came into the room.
"No I feel like crap." I said jokingly trying to lighten the mood and get my mind off of Charlie and Edward. I wish that Jasper was here. Jacob chuckled as he sat down at the foot of the bed.
"So 당신 and Edward finnaly killed Victoria?" Jacob said with a sigh.
"Well, actually Edward was the one to kill her. She had even made two newborns to help destroy me, that's how bad she wanted me dead." I said as my thoughts flickered to the memories I still had of her, I wish that I could just lock them in the farthest corner of the realm of my mind and just never remember them again. To just forget those awfull memories.
"That would explain why her twin sister wants to kill you, she probally thought that 당신 killed Victoria." Jacob said with another sigh.
"I hope Edward finds Laraun and Charlie, I swear if she puts one finger on Charlie, if she harms him in any way-" I started to say before I was interupted 의해 Carlisle.
"Jacob! Come outside, it's Laraun, she's here, with Charlie!" Carlisle said alarmingly as he appeared in the room suddenly.
"I'll be back." Jacob said as he jogged out of the doorway.
"Bella, I need to go and help them, I'll be back with Edward soon okay, don't worry, we'll get Charlie back unharmed." Carlisle said as he checked the IV pole and dissapeared out the doorway.
I didn't want to think about what was going on outside. Millions of thoughts and unanswered 질문 rushed into my mind like a flood. Is Charlie going to be okay? What about Edward? I hope he is going to be okay. What about jacob and the rest of the pack? They sh- My thoughts were interupted 의해 a crash followed 의해 a ripping noise. Immediatly I thought about Edward and Charlie, they were the two most important things on my mind right now. I heard 더 많이 ripping noises, the same noises that I heard when we destroyed Vicoria and her two newborns. 더 많이 pain surged up my back and into my whole body at the horrible thought that rushed into my mind.
Everything went silent.
Cahrlie appeared at the doorway.
"Bella." Charlie breathed as he came into the room.
"Dad!" I said as I tried to reach around to hug him, but the pain held me back.
"Are 당신 okay?" I said looking up into Charlie's crimson red eyes as Carlisle came into the room and Edward followed behind him.
"Yea, I'm fine." Charlie said as he breathed a sigh of relief.
"Where's Edward!?" I said very concerned over him.
"Bella!" Edward said as he appeared quickly at my bedsaide.
"Edward!" I said as I fought through the pain and reached up to hug him. The pain and agony that surged through my body like an electric current was unbearable. As he was hugging his arms around me, I had to lay back down. I squeezed my eyes shut in pain.
"Laraun is gone, 당신 don't have to worry about her anymore and she can't cause 당신 anymore pain." Edward said as our lips met for a brief moment.
"Where is Jacob and the others?" I said worried.
"Jacob had told Billy where he was going before he came up here him the rest of the pack and Jacob went back to tell Billy and Emily that they were okay. Rosalie, Alice, Jasper, and Emmett went to check the surrounding woods to make sure laraun didn't create any 프렌즈 for backup." Edward said smiling as he sat down on the foot of the bed.
"I'm so happy that 당신 are okay Bells!" Charlie said as he leaned on the 벽 on the right of me.
"I was so worried about you!" I said as 더 많이 tears rolled down my cheeks.
"It was like Laraun wanted to die, she just needed something to motivate us to kill her, she sure did motivate us." Edward said as he looked over his shoulder at Carlisle walked into the room then back at Charlie.
"Wait, she wanted for 당신 to kill her?" I said confused.
"Yea, she said quote, "I have been trying to kill myself ever since I heard that Victoria died, she was the only thing that kept me from killing myself, she didn't want me to die. Kill me now 또는 I'll hurt your little friend here." I didn't know what to do at that point, but I had so much anger built up that she hurt 당신 that I just lunged at her. Then she let go of Charlie. She had no will to live." Edward said looking at me then at Charlie.
"I tried to fight back at her, but she kept me in a head-lock, and no matter how hard I tried to escape, she just kept dragging me along." Charlie said shaking his head in pity at his own strength.
"That's just not right." I said looking at Carlisle.
"So how are 당신 feeling?" Charlie said as he sat down in the chair beside my 침대 and put his hand over mine.
"I'm still in alot of pain." I said looking at Charlie.
"O and Bella, I found the tip of the 칼, 나이프 and got it out. And when the 칼, 나이프 went into your back, it came about a quarter of an inch close to damaging a critical vein and your spinal cord. It landed right in between the two. I stitched your back up so try not to 옮기기 around alot. But other than that, 당신 should be just fine. Carlisle said as he came over to me and held a light up to my eyes and told me to look at his finger. Then he put his stethescope to my chest.
"Yep, your 심장 is beating again. 당신 just need some rest." He said smiling as he stood back up.
"Why did Laraun's power work on me and not the others?" I said looking at Edward, Charlie, and then back at Carlsile.
"It only works on certain people. Why it worked on 당신 and nobody else is a mystery I guess." Carlisle said shrugging.
"You don't know how hapy I am to see that 당신 are okay, I thought that she had- killed -you, but when 당신 opened your eyes if I could cry; if that were possible in my physical state, I would have been in tears." Edward said as he took my hand in his. He winced when he said the word 'killed' It put him in pain to think of me dead.
"Edward, should we tell them?" I said looking at Edward, then Charlie, then Carlisle. Edward nodded.
"Tell us what?" Charlie said suspicious.
"What is it?" Carlisle said looking as suspicious as Charlie.
"We're engaged." Edward said taking a deep breath, as a smile spread across our faces, Charlie's face lit up and so did Carlisle's.
"That's wonderful! Congradulations." Carlsile said putting his hand on my shoulder, as he smiled from ear to ear.
"When are ya'll gonna have the wedding?" Charlie said smiling and excited.
"Well, we don't really now yet." I said taking a deep breath.
"Well, today is May 12th. What about the June 13th? 당신 are going to need time to heal." Edward said looking at me, then at Charlie.
"That will work for me. That should give us enough time to plan the wedding." I said smiling at Edward.
"Just wait till Alice hears about this." Carlisle said chuckling.
"She's gonna go nuts." Charlie mused laughing along with Carlisle. Edward and I laughed at the thought.
Emmett, Rosalie, Alice, Jasper, and Esme came into the room.
"Laraun is gone. How are 당신 feeling Bella?" Jasper said looking at me.
"I still hurt alot when I try to move." I said looking at Edward then at Jasper.
"Laraun really took a toll on 당신 didn't she?" Esme said worried.
"Yea, she really put the hurt on me." I said taking a deep breath of air.
"What was her talent anyways?" Rosalie said holding Emmett's hand.
"She can reverse the power of vampire venom, therefore making a vampire half-human, half-vampire." Edward said looking at Rosalie, then he turned his head back around to look at me.
"That means......." Rosalie trailed off, then comprehenson flickered onto her face.
"Bella is a half-breed. Her 심장 is pumping blood again therefore giving her cheeks a blush of pink. Her skin is still strong, and so is she, she just has some minor changes." Carlisle said looking at Rosalie.
"But Charlie was around her for some time, doesn't that mean he is a half-breed too?" Emmett said looking a little confused.
"No, it didn't work on me." Charlie said looking somewhat confused like Emmett.
"But that doesn't make any sense." Alice said looking at Carlislse.
"I know, but I don't know why it only changed Bella and not the rest of us." Carlisle said loking at Alice, then back at me then at Charlie.
"Bella, needs to rest, we should go." Jasper said guesturing towards the stairwell.
"Bye Bella I'l be back to check up on 당신 after while." Esme said smiling.
"Yea, I'll come check on 당신 later too." Alice said as Jasper pulled her towards the stairs with the others, then they all vanished.
"But I don't want to rest, I feel fine." I said reassuringly.
"Bella, if 당신 don't go to sleep now and get some rest, all of the energy that Laraun took out of 당신 will make 당신 crash. I'll still be here when 당신 wake up." Edward said brushing soem hair out of my face with his hand.
"No, I'm fine." I said looking at Edward, I didn't want to go back to sleep, I felt fine.
Carlsile dashed out of the room and then was back in a 스플릿, 분할 초 with a bag of fluids in his hand.
"I'm sorry Bella, but 당신 need your rest, 당신 can't just stay awake 당신 ned energy." Carlisle said as he started pumping the clear liquid down the IV. My body went cold as I sunk into a deep painless sleep.





I slowly opened my eyes and the first thing I heard was the annoying beeping sound again.
"Edward." I said grogily as I took a deep breath and looked over and saw Edward sitting in the chair beside the bed.
"Morning Bella." Edward said smiling.
"It's morning?" I said confused and disoriented.
"Yes, Carlisle put 당신 to sleep at five PM, 당신 slept all night long. But Bella, I have some news, I'm not sure if this is good 또는 bad, but Renee wants to visit. She called Charlie last night, her and Phill got divorced." Edward said putting his hand on mine.
"But she can't visit, she'll notice mine and Charlie's skin and our eyes, she'll notice that something is wrong." I said starting to panic. 더 많이 pain jolted into my back and spine. I winced.
"Bella, Carlisle has it all figured out." Edward said assuringly.
"Okay, where is Charlie?" I said curiously.
"He is out hunting with the others. I went hunting early this morning before 당신 woke up. Alice made Charlie promise not to concentrate on them so they could hunt and not feel guilty, and Carlisle got called in to work at the hospital." Edward said smiling as he laughed.
"I can't wait for our wedding." I said smiling as I leaned up a little to 키스 Edward. He kissed me back gently.
"Wedding!? Why didn't 당신 tell me sooner?" Alice beamed as she hopped into the room, a big smile on her face. Edward leaned back and looked up at Alice. I layed back down.
"You were easedropping on us?" I said looking playfully at her.
"No, I saw it in a vision I had while I was hunting with the others." Alice said matter-of-factly.
"Did 당신 tell the others?" Edward asked curious.
"No, they didn't even know that I had a vision." Alice said sitting down on the foot of my bed.
Rosalie, Jasper, Emmett, and Esme came into the room.
"Hey Bella. How are 당신 feeling?" Esme said as she appeared at the side of my bed.
"I'm feeling better." I said taking a deep breath.
"we would have come in earlier, but we didn't want to wake 당신 up." Esme said smiling that sweet inocent smile of hers.
"Uh Bella and I have something to tell all of you." Edward said putting his hand on 상단, 맨 위로 of mine and smiling that inoxicating smile of his.
"What?" Emmet said smiling a little bit.
"What is it?" Rosalie said looking a bit concerned.
"Is something wrong?" Jasper said looking a bit confused.
"No Jasper nothing is wrong." I said smiling and biting down on my bottom lip.
"Then what is it?" Jasper said as Alice came over and put her arms around his torso. Jasper put his arm around her.
"Edward and I are getting married." I said smiling from ear to ear, but the smile faded a little when the pain returned.
"Congradulations!" Esme said, extremly excited.
"Nice." Emmett said comming over and patting Edward on the shoulder.
"Congradulations." Jasper said smiling.
"I'm very happy for you." Rosalie said smiling.
"Well we need to start planning the wedding now don't we?" Alice said skipping back over to my bedside.
"Yes we do." I said smiling. Edward looked at me and smiled.

I was getting married, to Edward, the 사랑 of my life, the 사랑 of my existance. I loved him 더 많이 than anything and nothing will change that.
