(End of Chapter 3)
"Nice work Jane" he complimented. "He will improve our, oh how shall I say it, service much". I wanted to fling myself at him again, fury overwheaming my comman sense. I sank into a croch. Aro laughed again "Oh theres no need for that Jane.Why don't 당신 go out and see him" I relaxed, knowing that I should, and went out of the room, exxcedinly slow and dramtic. When I came out. I saw the relief in his eyes, but also the questioning. I resloved not to tell him anymroe about the Volturi. It may have been stupid, but it was the only way I could think of to protect him.

(Edwards POV)
Our meetings continued, we met, kissed, talked and ate. It was annoying about how she had to go and leave as soon as we had finshed, and I ddin't even know who those crazy 뱀파이어 were. This pattern continued for a very long time before I got sick of it. Even then, I just thought that maybe I was missing Carlisle. It never really ticked in my head that I had to know who those vmapires were.

So we went to visit Carlisle. We travlled round the world before we finally foun him. He was living in a small town called Ultapa in North America. He saw me, and welcomed me back like I was his son. Amazingly, he didn't metion anything abut mine and Jane's eyes, although I knew that he was curious and disgusted. One 일 Jane went hunting, but she thoght I was behind her, just being silent. In reality, I was being restrained 의해 Carlisle. She ran, and he held me back, then went away (with me on his back), to an old 성 that was being restored. He put me in a room, and seeing the anguish on my face, would of cried had he could of when he shut the door and left me. I was shattered insdie, wondering if Jane knew that I was gone, but she wouldn't have known where I was even if she realised. I thought of her, sitting alone somewhere, calling my name, and my 심장 broke. I tried to get free of this room that he had put me in, but it was impossible. I called his name, angrily, then resentfully, and then growled and snarled. I needed Jane. I wanted to be back with her. No, I needed to be back with her.

After a few horus had passed, and I was no longer calling Carlisle's name 또는 growling and snarling, 또는 trying to rip the 벽 apart, Carlisle came in. The look on his face when he came in, it almost ripped my 심장 out. He said that he was sorry, the pulled up a 발판, 자 and sat with his face in his hands. I went up to him, and put my hand on his sholder. He looked up, and said, with sadness in his voice "Edward, what have 당신 done to yourself. Your eyes are a bright red, 당신 are with a girl from the Volturi, you've killed, what, how many people now? Edward, I would not have changed 당신 if I thought that 당신 were going to turn out like this. You've become a monster. I've 로스트 you. And I don't think..." his voice choked up at this momement. "I don't think that I'll ever find 당신 again. I brought 당신 here to tell 당신 this. Jane would never let me say this."
I was stunned. He didn't seem to have noticed.
"Edward", he continued, "this girl." His voice broke off suddenly. "Remember how I told 당신 when I changed 당신 that humans could not know that 당신 are a vamprie. Well this girl is part of the reason. Have you", his voice broke off again. "Have 당신 ever heard of the Volturi, Edward?" he asked. I shook my head numbley. "Well they are the reason, why humans can't know about us. They have taken on the duty of making sure everyone follows the rules. THat translates to punsihing transgressors. Edward..." his voice broke of yet again. "Edward, they are the worst of our kind. They are the monsters, not only ending humans lives, but 뱀파이어 as well. I believe that they would make up rules just to torture poeple. This Jane..." Carlisle seemed to be struggling for the right word "This Jane, "he began again " her gift...Well the Volturi keep people for their gifts. Aro, who can ee yuour thoughts, much like you, Edward, Marcus, who sees relationships, and Jane, who.." He started a new sentence "Well, just don't let her smile at you, okay?" His voice was filed with concern as he walked out the door, and left it open. I sat, wondering why Jane had not told me this earlier. I wondered why I shouldn't let her smile at me.I sat there, unable to come to a conclusion on each of them, and finally left, following Carlisle's scent, all the way back to the house.

When I was back, Jane came and threw her arms around me. She scolded me in her thouughts, but the expression on her face was relief, so I thought that it musn't of been too bad. Carlisle said that we should proberly go back to Italy. I agreed, and that night we went back to Italy, back to the Volturi.
