I got up early the 다음 morning. Well, 8, but it's still early for me. Charlie had left around 4 this morning for fishing so I was cleaning and straightening up around the house. Around 10 I went to the store to pick up some much needed groceries. Charlie was prone to eating out at the Lodge everynight so there was no 음식 in the house. Except cereal and milk. So I grabbed everything needed for this week and dragged it all back home. I stuffed all the boxes and cans where I could put them, and put all the plastic bags in a cuboard.
I had just made myself a 샌드위치 and chips for lunch when there was a knock on the door. I dusted my hands off and walked to the entry way to answer it.
When I opened the door, a tiny girl was standing on the other side. She had dark short hair that tucked under her chin like a bob, and honey colored eyes. She couldn't have been over 5 feet tall and had a huge blinding smile on her face. That's another thing I noticed. She was insainly beautiful.
"Hi. I'm Alice." She stuck out her hand.
"Bella." I shook her cold skin. She must be cold out there. "Please come in. I was just in the kitchen."
She walked passed me and into the 부엌, 주방 while I shut the door.
"Thank 당신 for doing my room. It's beautiful."
"Oh, your welcome." She waved it off. "It was fun." Her eyes spotted my untouched plate. "Oh, I'm sorry I interuppted. Please, eat."
"Are 당신 sure? Do 당신 want something?" I asked.
"I'm positive. And no thank you, I ate before I came."
"Well, here sit down with me." I grabbed my plate and sat down at the table.
"Okay, so, tell me about you." Alice leaned on her elbows, her hands clasped together infront of her.
"Well, my mom is moving out of the country with my new step-dad, and I didn't want to go, so I'm staying here with Charlie."
"Do 당신 not like your step-dad?"
"No. Phil's nice. Maybe a little young, but nice enough. I just didn't want to 옮기기 out of the coutry. I like it here where people speak english."
She laughed and her voice tinkled like bells. "I understand. Well, when 당신 finish, I was hoping 당신 would like to come over to my house for a while. 당신 can meet my brohters and sister so 당신 know 더 많이 than one person at school. If you'd like?"
"Yeah. Tha'd be great."
We talked about her 다음 and her family. Her mother Esme was an interior designer, her father, Carlisle was the doctor here in Forks. Her and her siblings were all adopted. She and Edward were adopted first, though the youngest. Jasper and Rosalie were senoirs and were twins, and last was Emmett, also a senior.
"Esme and Carlisle are mine and Edward's real aunt and uncle. Our mother's sister was Esme. And another thing, 당신 may find this weird...Emmett is with Rosalie, and I'm with Jasper."
I shook my head. "I don't think that's weird. 당신 guys aren't really related. 당신 can't help who 당신 fall in 사랑 with."
She sighed and smiled in reilef. "I'm glad 당신 understand."
"Just left me get ready and we can go." I put my plate in the sink and ran up to my room. I put on my dark blur sweater, my gray skinny jeans and my dark gray snow boots. My hair actually looked decient today, so I left it wavy down my back.
"Okay." I hopped off the stairs. "I'm ready."
When we got half way down the trail, Alice looked at me. "We're almost there. It's just through the clearing."
"Wait. 당신 like in the old Lockwood Mansion?"
"Yeah." She noded. "It was the only house here bg enough for all of us. We've redone it though. Edward is amazing at archeticture, so he pretty much drew all the sketching out, The guys all built it, we all painted it, and us girls decorated. The outside looks the same, but the inside is different."
"Wow." I muttered to myself.
When we came thorugh the clearing, I noticed it DID look the same on the outside. She opened the door and let us in, closing it behind me and callin out. "I'm home!"
Around the corner, A woman, who could be over thirty-five, smiled at me. "You must be Bella. I'm Esme, so please, call me Esme."
"Thank you. 당신 have a beautiful home." I told her looking around.
"Thank you, Dear."
"Hello, Bella." A man with blond hair, the same age as Esme smiled. "I'm Carlisle. I'm please to know 당신 like our home."
"I do." I nodded. "It's nice to meet 당신 as well."
"Where is everyone?" Alice asked.
"Edward is in his wing. The others are in the bonus room."
"Come on, Bella." Alice grabed my hand and led me up and flight of stairs, the back down a flight and down a long halway.
"I'm back." She walked through the door way and three pair of eyes were set on me. "Bella this is Emmett, Jasper, and Rosalie."
They all greated me warmly. Well, Rosalie's look was staight from hell, so her's was pretty hot. "I'm going to let her meet Edward and I will be back."
As we were walking, she explained. "Edward has his own wing. He likes being alone. He likes his quiet thinking time."
"We are going to interrupt him are we?"
"No." She shook her head. "He knows we are coming."
She opened a big glass door and lead me down a small stoned pathway. There was a small two-story house..well, it looked 더 많이 like a mini penthouse. "He's not a pimp." She giggled. "The look on your face gave your thoughts away."
She knocked on one of the thick black double doors. "I think 당신 two will get along well. You're both very quiet and reserved. No offence."
"Not at all." I shook my head. "I guess I'm like my dad in that way."
I heard the lock click and the door opened to Edward. Edward Cullen. How do 당신 describe Edward Cullen? Well, tall, milky skin, copper 침대 hair, a 5 o'clock shadow, toned, inhumanly beautiful with gold/amber eyes that would make 당신 melt.
"Edward, this is Isabella-Bella- Swan. Bella, Edward." She introduced us.
"Pleaser to meet you." He nodded and reached out his hand. I noticed the clingy black sweater he was wearing with his faded, gray, hip-hugging, low-rise jeans. His bound to be perfect feet were clad in black socks.
"It is." I shook his hand. It was just as cold as Alice's. "I like our place." I looked around.
"You've only seen the outside. Wait until 당신 see how borng I really am." He grined this crooked grin and I had to tell myself to breathe again because my lungs were collapsing.
"I got to get back to the gang. 당신 guys come back when 당신 are done with the tour. I want to show Bella my room." Alice smiled. "Bye guys." She waved her fingers and turned to return to the house.
"Would 당신 like to come in?" Edward's voice swam in my head.
"Thanks." I nodded.
He stepped aside and let the through the threshold. He took my 코트 after he shut the door and hung in across the arm chair that was sitting 의해 the door. "Would 당신 like to see it?"
"Yes please." I nodded.
He stuck his hands in his pockets and led me though the house. The living room was crisp white, with a large sectional infront of a 불, 화재 place and projection screen above it. "TV." He pointed to the screen.
"Gah." I scoffed.
I heard him chuckel softly beside me. "The 부엌, 주방 is through here." We walked under a archway and into a white kitchen. I was getting the feeling he liked classic. One 벽 was white bricked, around the island were high backed cousioned chairs.
"It's amazing." I told him.
"I never cook in here." He told me.
"Why?" I looked up at him.
"I never have to." He smiled. "The rest?"
I nodded and followed him up a flight of stairs from the living area. "The first door is my bathroom."
"You know." I interrupted. "I think this house is very you."
He cocked a perfect eyebrow.
"It's very tidy, and classic, and clean. But it's also very elegant and beautiful. It just seems like you." I shrugged.
"Well are 당신 ready for the surprise?" He asked and opened the door infront of the bath.
I gasped as it opened to reveal black and verydark, rich brown. It was beautiful. The 침대 had silky linens, and dark thick curtins, and plush carpet. "Wow. I wasn't expecting this. The mysterious side of you?" I asked.
"The vampire side of me?" He smiled.
I laughed and walked deeper into the room. "This is beautiful Edward.
"My mother designed it all."
"To your likings though right?" I asked.
He gave me a knowing smile.
"See." I sat down on the fluffy bed. "I think there is something behind the house." I squinted at him.
"You are very observent."
I nudged him with my elbow. I smiled relizing I was having fun-easily-since I left for Forks. "No really. It's like, the outside is a shell. What 당신 want everyone to see. The living room and 부엌, 주방 are like inside what 당신 only let certin people see, then there's your bedroom. The secret 당신 don't want anyone to find out."
"You should go into psycology." Edward laughed. "But yes, your right. I can't let my gard down around some people. And some I can, and some I won't."
I bit the inside of my jaw. "I'm sorry 당신 feel that way."
"It's a part of life. I bet 당신 feel the same way sometimes."
"I do." I nodded and looked up to meet his hot honey eyes. "We should get back."
"Yeah." He stood up and stoped at the door, putting his arm out. "Ladies first."
"Why thank 당신 kind, sir." I curtsied.
"My Lady." He nodded and closed the door, his secret, back up behind us.
