Courtney's POV: I got up from my 책상, 데스크 and grabbed a textbook from the back, much to my dismay that Duncan is so lazy.

"Here, I got your stupid book, happy now?" I narrowed my eyes and let out a loud groan as I sat down in the seat.

"Why 당신 so glum, Princess?" He smirked and played with a little pocket knife. I scoffed.

"You should know." I glared at him. He held his palms up in surrender.

"Ok, don't go all badass on me." He shuddered.

"Mr. Payne," Mrs. Adams stood in the front of the class with a ruler. "I will not tolerate such language as yours in this class. Shall 당신 choose not to correctly follow these rules I can assign 당신 extra credit homework."

Good god he mouthed, staring straight at Mrs. Adams.

"Eh, I'll take the homework." Was all he said, and I got a heavy feeling in my stomach.

"Ok," Mrs. A strutted over to her 책상, 데스크 and picked up a stack of papers. "You will all need to complete a project on a famous author 또는 philosopher of your choice."

"Yawwwwwwwwwwwn." Duncan muttered under his breath and I glared at him slightly.

"And as for Mr. Payne, this project will not only count as a similar grade to everybody else, but will count with two extra credit grades."

Everyone groaned, even Duncan.

"Excuse me, that's not fair!" Heather protested. "Mom!"

"Hush, my decision is final." Mr. A started passing around the papers.

Mine and Duncan's 책상, 데스크 was in the far back, so when the last two papers of our row landed on our desk, I reached to take out - yet at the same time as he - and my hand landed on 상단, 맨 위로 of his. I was starstruck for a moment, then I quickly jerked back after a few seconds.

He just smirked. "You better pay attention, Princess."

And it was then I realized I was staring at his arm muscles rippling under his soft black shirt. O.o

Duncan's POV: I drummed my fingers on the 책상, 데스크 as I looked the extra credit over. It said I'd need to type a 2 page paper on a famous writer 또는 philosopher - and I'd need to work with a partner. Ha, sweet, and I already had one picked out.

"Mr. Payne," Mrs. Adams eyed me smirking. "Since this is an extra credit concerning you, I have a feeling 당신 won't do it to my perspective, so 당신 will be assigned a tutor and partner for afterschool work."

I smirked wider, and Courtney was crossing her fingers, praying.

"And I feel that the best way to make 당신 succeed - is to pair 당신 up with the smartest person in the class." Mrs. Adams clapped her ruler. "Courtney Smith."

I chuckled and she whispered "Damn!"

I leaned in toward her ear and whispered "Hey princess, maybe 당신 and me could skip the studying and do a little lip-to-lip."

She bitchslapped me in the face, and I sat up straight, smoothing my pained jaw.

Courtney's POV: After school, I jogged 집 and tossed my backpack on the floor with an attitude. Duncan was coming over here in ten minutes. FUCK!

I groaned and layed down on my 침대 like a baby.

"Court, 당신 집 yet?" came the voice of my best friend Tiannah.

"Yea, I'm in here!"

Tiannah came waltzing into my room, her long black-and-pink-and-blonde hair up in two punk ponytails. She wore a black corset and dark denim skinny jeans and gray converse.

"Hey," She smiled her braced smile and sat on the 침대 다음 to me. "What's wrong?"

What's wrong. Tia is always being a counselor.

I groaned. "Some delinquent is coming over to study with me."

She made kissy noises and elbowed me. "Bad boys are always hot." She sang.

"Egh, this one isn't. He's so annoying and rude!"

"Ha, 의해 the looks of it, 당신 like him."

"WHAT?!" I stood up. "I HATE HIM! He's like a rash that won't go the hell away!"

"Loooooooove."

"HATE!"

"Whatev." She thought. "Hey, my cousin is going over someone's house to study, too. Weird coincidence."

I snorted and twirled a lock of my thick brown hair. "Rather just simple than coincidental, your family is weird."

"Ha, and like yours isn't?"

"No, my family is uptight."

"So I see where it's gone." She smirked at me and raised an eyebrow. I knew that smirk, I recognized it off Duncan's face, but why?

Suddenly, a car honked outside, and I went out into the 부엌, 주방 의해 the living room and got a drink to spy on the car.

"Princess, I'm home!" Duncan unknowingly burst through the door with a pair of car keys and placed them on the table.

Tiannah stood 의해 me with her arms crossed, and suddenly her eyes went wider than plates.

"Dunkie!" She cried and ran to hug Duncan.

"Hey, T." He hugged her back, and I just stood in the midst of everything.

"Wha?" I gawked in unbelief.

"Oh, pardon me." Tia released Duncan and stood 의해 him.

"Duncan is my cousin."
