The Missing Piece And The Wild Card – The Walking Dead Season 5 Episode 2 – Sneak Preview – Strangers

With a premiere as riveting as last Sunday’s, can we expect things to be even better this Sunday? It looks as though yes, yes we can. Based on what was divulged by the show’s director, writer, and shown in the trailer for episode two, it seems more thrills are definitely coming our way.

First and foremost where is our lone missing survivor, Beth? She was the one person that we did not get a glimpse of last week but not to worry, according to the show’s writer Scott Gimple, Beth will be in episode two.

We hope to find out what happened to her when she went missing, where she is being held now, and what is going to happen to her next. What I really want to know though is how is Daryl going to juggle both Beth and Carol?

Will there be a post-apocalyptic love triangle? We haven’t had one of those since Rick, Shane and Lori and we all know how that turned out. Well, if a cat fight breaks out over the adorable archer, no matter what Carol tells you Beth, DO NOT look at the flowers!

Speaking of Carol, there is unfinished business between she and Rick. There is a big elephant in walker riddled forest and they are going to have to discuss it. Director Greg Nicotero and Gimple both alluded to the fact that this uncomfortable conversation is coming.

Will Carol be forgiving of Rick for essentially leaving her to die? If you recall, he banished her from the prison as he thought she was behaving recklessly by making life and death decisions without consulting him first. Well Rick needs to humble himself to her now because had she not done the same last week, Rick, Daryl, Glenn, and Bob would have bled out into a metal trough and been cut into several pieces by now.

The other BIG thing coming our way is the return of Morgan. He is the one who saved Rick when this all began, which makes him an important part of the story.  Although it is great to see him again, the last time we saw him, he was a little “off”.

In the preview, he looks like a creepy desperado. Will he warm up when/if he comes across Rick and the others? Or is he too far gone? It will be interesting to see if he comes back into the mix as friend or foe.

Morgan takes a moment to asses his surroundings and some symbols carved into a tree. Who left the symbols and what exactly do they mean? Add these questions to the ever growing list of things which are to be answered this coming Sunday as well.

It sure sounds like it is going to be a busy episode. The creators of the show had promised season five would be fast paced right out of the gate and it seems they are keeping their word. With so much happening only going into episode two, it sure seems as though the season ahead is going to be incredible.
