I think it just happened, like they didn't had any intentions on battle each other before hand but winded up fighting each other 의해 running into each other on the battlefield. If they did have intentions on fighting each other Nala would of been in the movie 더 많이 and talked about Vitani with 더 많이 negativity.
Nah honestly everyone was in the heat of the moment and Nala was probably fired up with zeal ready for battle. BUT! On the other hand Vitani maybe have tried to instigate a fight with Nala that's why she made the 코멘트 she did 당신 know "how's your pretty daughter Nala?" But that's a different theory. :D

I think she just said that just to get underneath her skin, because Kiara always runs off and Kiara is Nala and Simba's only child, and if the theory your talking about that Vitani is Nala's daugther I say no to that because if she was she would of been older than Kiara as in been an adult while Kiara still a cub. But anyways conversation of another 일 x^P
Thank 당신 for not being one of those people I've seen people on DeviantArt saying she is but I stongly disagree and thank 디즈니 it isn't true because even in the Deleted scene where Scar wanted to mate with her she refused which gives massive evidence that Vitani is not her daugther.
It looks like Nala was looking for 더 많이 outsiders to fight and Vitani came above her on a ledge and to believe that she wanted to kill Kiara and decides to fight Nala instead.
