Definitely. Though I like all kinds of characters. Some are villains while others are as nice as you can be. I honestly don't know which type of characters I like =P

Because I don't think personality is the same thing as behaviour ;p .. for exaple Veronica made A LOT OF things I hated, but I love her smart and funny temper XD

The character's storyline for sure! That's the most important thing IMO.
Why would I love someone whose storyline sucks/is boring?

..the other things come after, like personality, looks (this may sound superficial, but pretty characters make me love them even more and if someone isn't appealing to me at all, it kind of bugs me), if I can relate to the character, etc...

Btw, 'all of the above' or 'everything' options ruin the pick, but oh well..
*sigh*

i deleted the "everything" option cause it kind of ruins the pick when it's options like that. you're supposed to pick one specific thing, you know ;)

Yeah, pretty much all of them, but personality is the most important to me. And the storyline

Actually all of these are important! But in most cases I love characters which they may behave bitchy and be the popular and beautiful ones but deep inside they are kinda nice and sensitive and caring.E.g. I love Quinn Fabray from Glee,Whilelmina Slater from Ugly Betty,Rachel Gatina from One Tree Hill....
But of course there are cases I notice other things like the storylines which I think play a really important role cause there might be a good character with bad stoylines so the character can't develop propelry and he/she becomes rather unloved.
The population of the character is also important to me.I hate the nerds and the unpopular characters!I like them to be popular and rich and the kind of character which every student let's say seems to know and be prom and homecoming queens.
One of the most important things in my opinion is the characters looks.I know this may sound a little mean or something but I hate ugly characters!I want to find a character good-looking in order to like him. This is a rule for me.I mean, there might be a character which is ugly but he's character is such that if he/she was good-looking that there are good chances I would probably love him/her!Does this make any sense?
The hobbies and interests of the characters does not really bother me much.
As far as the "I could've been great friends with the character if he/she was real." thing it's actually the opposite for me.Most of the characters are ones which I would probably wouldn't be friends with in real life!

Aren't the behaviour and personality the same thing? In my opinion anyway.

i wouldnt say that behavior and personality are the same thing... i mean i love love LOVE brooke davis. she is my 2nd favorite tv character, but there are times that her behavior really upsets me...sometimes her behavior reflects her personality (for example- sleeping with a lot of guys because she was insecure and never felt good enough) but it's her personality i like- not necessarily her behavior.
but in general, for a character to become my favorite...most of the time i love the way he or she behaves, speaks, thinks, and interacts with others.

but i definitely don't like a character because i could see myself being his or her friend. i LOVE monica gellar...but no way could i ever be friends with someone that neurotic and competitive in real life. that's why she is one of my favorite tv characters and is entertaining to watch, but she is nothing like any of my friends.

Very well put, I agree wholeheartedly but I could see me being friends with Monica, she seemed to respect that not everyone was like her & made a very good friend to everyone on the show & they all had different personalities, I'm a bit neurotic myself & wish that I had good friends like she did that accepted her for who she was & they remained friends, of course, this is a show so I don't know how that would play out in real life, never met anyone that stuck around long enough to give me a real chance to prove that although different, I could be a very good friend but I don't base who I like on who I might or might not be friends with cause some of my fave characters I probably wouldn't be friends with but love that they are in the show, even the bad ones sometimes, if they are not all bad, cause they make the show interesting & you see your faves put in different situations that otherwise they would not have been in. A crisis usually tells alot about a person but doesn't necessarily mean it's a bad thing cause they don't handle it well though. Very good question by the way!

I really enjoy characters that have got a little complexity thrown into the mix. Honestly if I like their personality and what little quirks they have, I can excuse any behaviour.

I love Lisa Cuddy, and her behaviour can be pretty appalling at times :) But she's strong, brave, sassy, guilt ridden, vain, idealistic but also incredibly insecure. Her storylines aren't always that great (she was barely used the first 2 seasons), I think she would have gotten bored of me in real life (so I could never be friends with her), She's about 50/50 for people liking or or disliking her...am I making my point at all? She interests me because I like her and I like what she stands for.

What makes me LIKE a character is his/her physical appearance and then his/her personality. But in the longer run, it would be his/her storylines. I guess it's because there's character development/growth, like Peyton didn't appeal to me in s1 but she grew on me in s2. I looooved Blair in s1 but as s2 progressed she annoyed and bored me sometimes.
