It’s so sad to know that because of their singer-changings, Therion couldn’t keep their style and I think it’s why people say that their earlier works are way better. Actually, every album they’ve done is musically perfect and flawless, even their last half-cover album Fleurs du Mal. Can’t wait for their new stuff.

I just found out that Tarja will be a coach for The Voice of Finland and even though I’m not her biggest fan, I’m really happy for her and for the fact that metal is being represented in a show like this.

Something I’ve noticed lately is that people on this blog seem to keep saying ‘oh they’re becoming too poppy’ about a lot of bands; Tristania, Amaranthe, Indica, and WT to name a few. Is everything just poppy now? And is something more pop-metal/rock really THAT bad? I think some people need to stop calling everything that isn’t all-out metal/rock pop.


@11163 I guess that depends what kind of female fronted metal it is. I can agree that quite a few bands are tears, blood and darkness. But that sounds like mostly Black and Gothic metal. Where as Symphonic and Power is more castles, dragons, and fantasy.I suppose what I’m trying to say is that every genre seems to have it’s own lyrical theme. And each has a way of making said theme original.


I absolutely love the bands Within Temptation and Delain. Tarja Turunen/Nightwish and Lacuna Coil are amazing too; and I do like some of Epica’s material as well. I’m really trying to find more music like Within Temptation and Delain, but it is just so hard to match their style! They are just the perfect mix of classical sounds, electronic metal, and beautiful voices! I really wish there were more bands like them, I’m currently trying to get into Nemesea; pretty good so far. Any recommendations?
