I don’t mind when Within Temptation started changing their style with The Unforgiving but I think they really jumped the shark with Hydra. Why people still call them Symphonic “metal” is beyond me. At the moment they are becoming more and more pop-rock o.O


It only makes sense that the ice queen did the ice bucket challenge.

Drop Dead Cynical sounds different than the oldest songs of Amaranthe, but it’s fantastic!


I credit Within Temptation, Epica, & Nightwish with reviving my taste in metal. Female vocals give metal bands a much needed change of pace imo. Male vocals tend to be very formulaic in metal, and that is my number one complaint with many bands.


I really love Nightwish. They are one of my life-changing bands and I adore them a lot. But I’m really afraid of their upcoming album with Floor. The same happened me before the release of DPP. I have no idea about what will we hear from “new” Nightwish. Will they turn back to their symphonic style with Floor’s dramatic soprano voice or will they turn into a progressive-rock band with Floor’s powerful clean vocals. I hope Tuomas let Floor sing operatic and they turn back even better and better.


I completely respect Simone for wanting to keep her baby out of the public eye but I know we are all dying to see him. Maybe for his first birthday she will post a picture


I love bats (the animal). I really want a female fronted metal band who has a bat theme. Or one of my favorite artists (WT, Delain, Epica, etc.) to make a song about bats. Why? Because bats.

I think whatever Nightwish does with Floor will be kick ass!!


10576: maybe you should look up what pop rock is, because hydra definitely wasn’t that. just because it’s different from their old stuff and maybe has one or two pop influences, doesn’t mean it’s not metal or hard rock anymore. paramore is/was pop rock. all time low is pop rock. kelly clarkson is pop rock. do they sound familiar to wt’s hydra? hell no. hydra had way too many heavy guitars for that, plus a lot of melodies pop rock just doesn’t have.


I am so looking forward to the new Amaranthe album. It’s the best decision they could have made to make Henrik the new screamer. He gives Amaranthe’s music a brutality Andy couldn’t, imo. And he is so good live, so I hope ‘Massive Addictive’ will kick ass!


I love Anette’s a cappella covers of songs. I especially love her cover of Evanescence’s Bring Me To Life, and I think that she has a beautiful voice.


I always loved Floor. I really love her voice and I always supported her in Nightwish. Even through what people said about her during ReVamp’s Latin American tour. But when I heard that to her Simone is only a colleague, not a best friend I lost all of my respect to her. I mean she was her bestie while ReVamp was touring with Epica or while she invited to sing for Retrospect but when she started to lead the hugest symphonic metal band, Simone suddenly became a colleague? I don’t know, maybe there’s another reason under this but to me, Floor looks so rude.


Just as No Compliance, Charlotte should do a version for A Day for Ghosts.


I know some people find Epica’s lyrics too “pseudo-philosophical” but I love them. Actually, they’ve ruined me for other bands because everyone’s lyrics just seems mediocre to the one Epica make.
