What's with all the endless shippings?

Note this is my opinion
Why do people ship Sonic stuff alot like Sonic x Amy when sonic doesn't 사랑 amy 또는 Tails x Sonic when there best 프렌즈 또는 Shaow x sonic 또는 sonic x silver 또는 Shadow x 슈렉 I don't get it

I am a 팬 of a few (conflicting) shippings (ShadAmy and SonAmy for example), but I don't take it too seriously. However, I don't understand why yaoi/yuri is so widespread when a lot of people don't like it 또는 don't feel comfortable with seeing their fave characters portrayed in that way.

because while that is true the reverse is also true. Alot of people like seeing them in that way. kinda 50/50 deal for the amount of the people that do and don't

I don't know if it's that high of an amount, since a lot of people hate it. Just wish there was a way to filter it out for people like myself who don't like seeing that. There should at least be some sort of warning so people searching for 이미지 don't get mentally scarred lol.
