In sonic adventure 2 shadow appeared and hes been giveing sonic a run for his rings ever since. n(however shadow has rocket boots sooooo...)
However ever since 2006, sonics been the fastest thing alive! And he always will be!

tails was not acually cheating because he uses a part of his vbody unlike shadow using his shoes but silver was not acually cheating but i think hes cheating because he uses his pychokinesis to lift himself ='...'=
yes he is as fast as sound which has a speed of 789 mph 또는 1 mile per 3 초 thats why hes alled the fastest thing alive 또는 the fastest hedgehog in the world
