Over the past few months, I’ve noticed that, when it comes to Britain, the majority of Fanpoppers know very little. As a result, I have decided to write a guide. 당신 can thank me later.
1. Money
We use pounds (£). Pounds are basically dollars, but are coins instead of notes. Our coins are 1p,2p,5p,10p,20p and 50p. The ‘p’ stands for pence. There are 100 pennies to a pound. After the coins, we then have the £5,£10,£20 and £50 notes, although £50 notes are very rare.
2. Schools
The first real stage of school in Britain is Primary school for ages 4-11. However, before that parents can send children to play groups 또는 nurseries. I imagine it’s like this in America too, though I haven’t visited in years.
After Primary School, children then attend Secondary School up to the age of 16 (or 15, in some cases). Students, if they wish, can go to College (16-18, I think) and then to 대학 (19- whenever, as time spent here usually varies).
But what do 당신 achieve in school? Primary School students complete SATs, Secondary School students get GCSEs, College students A and AS levels and finally 대학 students will be awarded a degree. 대학 students can also get things like Masters degrees, Doctorates etc. Again, I’m fairly sure our 대학 is similar to American College.
British schools have years, not grades. Primary schools are years 1-6, High Schools are years 7-11. After that, College students say 초 year, 또는 first year, student.
3. Culture
We have a large culture, so I’ll cover the main parts.
A lot of people who 사랑 the British Isles do so because of it’s awesome culture. Whatever 당신 have heard about fantastic theatres is NOT TRUE. To most Britons, the idea of sitting in the dark and thinking is unacceptable. Most people spend their nights at the local chippy 또는 pub.
But what are chippys? Chippys are what is great about Britain. They sell our signature dish, 물고기 and Chips, ands are especially 인기 in the North. Most of the business these guys get is from our good old British chavs, who can often be spotted brawling outside. However, they are freakin’ awesome, so we tend to visit a lot.
At the moment, a Royal Wedding has been announced with one of our Princes and his girlfriend. Most of 당신 Britain 팬 will have 이미지 of us dancing and 노래 cockney rhymes in the streets. That is not happening. No one cares. Most of us are already sick of it.
I’m probably being a bit hard on Britain now, so I’ll mention some god things that are actually good.
There’s lots of castles here. That’s interesting. Britain is very historical, and very pretty. That’s good. And there are some theatres that are alright. British singers are awesome, like Oasis and The Saturdays.
Cheryl Cole is the Nations Sweetheart, apparently. I like Cheryl. Cheryl, along with Simon, Louis and Dannii, judges on the X Factor. X Factor used to be good, but, in my opinion, it’s not anymore. However, it is still a large part of British culture. Large swathes of Brits are probably watching it as I type this right now.
Manchester, where I live, is pretty awesome. I might be biased, though. The Arndale shopping centre is great. 런던 and Liverpool are alright too. I 사랑 the renaissance architecture in Britain- some of our cathedrals are breathtaking.
4. Politics
This is a complicated one. But never fear- I kind of understand it!
The first ‘house’ in the British Houses of Parliament is the House of Commons. This is full of MPs, people elected from each constituency. The 초 house is the House of Lords. The people here have seats that they inherited. I’m not too sure what these guys do. I think they approve the laws passed in the House of Commons.
We have a Prime Minister, too. At the time of writing, he is called David Cameron. The Prime Minister attempts to get his policies through. He is basically the head of Parliament.
This brings me nicely to the Political parties. The first one is Labour. These are Socialist (or meant to be). They are left wing, and their leader is Ed Miliband.
The 초 party is the Liberal Democrats. Before the General Election in May, they were Liberal/centre. However, at the first sniff of power from the Tories, they abandoned their beliefs. Maybe I’m a bit biased about these guys, too. I feel like they betrayed me. I will be giving 링그 to the parties websites at the end, so don’t worry if 당신 need a balanced opinion. The leader is Nick Clegg.
The third party is the Conservatives, 또는 the Tories. They are right wing Capitalist. At the moment, their leader David Cameron is the Prime minister.
This year, in the General Election, no one party got a majority of votes. This meant that the Liberals and the Tories went into a coalition. Cameron is Prime minister, and Clegg is his errand boy Deputy.
5. The Royal Family
Most people know who they are, so I’ll just explain what they do:
Nothing.
And so ends this Guide to Britain. Any questions? ^^

The European Union recently expanded to include a total of 25 member states. Some people are concerned, however, that problems will arise with anemployment, and that high influx of immigrants from the former Eastern block countries will cause difficulties for the the other member states. What are the positive and negative consequences of including former Eastern block countries in the EU? Which do 당신 think are greater, the advantages 또는 disadvantages, for the newly expanded,25-member EU?

So, it's been five years since 당신 passed. I wanted to take a few 분 to remind people of how wonderful 당신 were and how much 당신 impacted my life. Honestly, even now, I miss talking to you. I miss your 사랑 props on my 벽 and I miss just being able to talk to someone and being to say the things that I can't to anyone else.
Do 당신 remember when 당신 told me I was ten feet tall and bulletproof? It was almost amusing, but I remember just being pissed off at pumpkinqueen and wanting to throttle her. I also remember that 당신 calmed me down and I took a step back and decided not to say anything too stupid.
I wish we'd had 더 많이 time to be 프렌즈 and hang out together. I really do. 당신 were a wonderful and kind person, with plenty of smarts. And I appreciated every moment of being able to talk to 당신 and have someone I could rely on when I needed it.
Thank 당신 so much.

I noticed some very sad things if 당신 replay the first Red Dead after the prequel..
1: Jack's 쓴, 쓰라린 line "teach me and your just run away again 또는 something" is now sadder when the prequel reveals John ran off for a whole 년 when Jack was really little. Jack's clearly still angry.
2: Dutch.. He's some kinda Empty Shell of the man we once knew. The man he and Hosea raised from childhood is now out to kill 또는 capture him. And he clearly hasn't gotten better, mentally. He is now just another crazed enemy.
3: Uncle's death.. Despite having taken a level in jerkass, we feel like we know the man 의해 this point. It's like meeting up with an friend... And than watching them get murdered.
4: If 당신 have Jack kill Ross, bascally Arthur and John died in vein.. But sadly this is probably the true ending..
5: Seeing Bill and Javier can be rough now..
