Hi I just finished my freshman 년 and I'm going to be a sophomore!!!

조언 - talk to everyone and go to the orientation events. The first friend I made is now my best friend and we met through orientation. Don't be afraid to talk to people - no one else really has any idea what's going on either and even the cool kids are dweebs deep down.

At the same time, choose 프렌즈 carefully. It's different if you're going to a huge state school 또는 something but my school is on the smaller side and friend groups got cemented within the first few weeks. So don't hang with people 당신 don't like and introduce yourself to people 당신 find interesting even if you're terrified. Be 프렌즈 with your roommate but don't cling to them - having all the same 프렌즈 as your roomie just creates drama. Befriend your roomie but maintain boundaries!

가입하기 clubs is also cliche 조언 but I met a lot of cool people through them! And go to parties, say yes to hanging out, be social in the beginning even if it isn't normally your thing. It makes your first 년 experience so much better.

Also as far as classes make sure 당신 plan your schedule so 당신 have time to eat and time between. Don't overbook yourself. Don't be afraid to ask for help from professors - they 사랑 what they do and they're super intelligent and they wanna help! Tutoring is also always available and yeah it can be stigmatized but if 당신 need it get it.

Get all your 책 as early as possible. Find them used to save money, 또는 ask upperclassman if they'll sell their old 책 to you. (This also works for appliances btw. A lot of older students sell stuff at the beginning of the 년 - keep an eye out!)

Get there as early as possible to 옮기기 in. 당신 get to choose which side of the room 당신 want and 당신 don't have to deal with moving in and meeting people at the same time; it's a lot 더 많이 relaxing to already have all your stuff in your room before 당신 go out and do stuff!

Also, 당신 probably don't have enough hangers and storage space. Make sure all your stuff has a home! And bring lots of comfort 음식 and your 가장 좋아하는 things from home. Bring Advil and cough drops and hand sanitizer (flu season in dorms is HELL and 당신 WILL get sick several times). 당신 will also need lots of paper towels. And duct tape. Duct tape fixing everything.

Idk what else to say, man, but everyone makes 프렌즈 at college and once 당신 do it's the time of your life, but 당신 gotta make yourself into the person 당신 wanna be. First 년 is a fresh start - take advantage of that.

If 당신 have any 질문 당신 can ask me, but can I ask what school you're going to? 당신 don't have to say if you're not comfortable with that but I'm from Pennsylvania and I'm p familiar with a lot of the schools there. ^^

Most of this advise is what I was going to tell you. To add - be careful if 당신 have to go out at night - make sure 당신 go with friends. Also, remember to take plenty of change with 당신 for washer / dryer / vending machines etc.

^ true and on 상단, 맨 위로 of that first one, always look out for your fellow girls when 당신 go out! Only drink things you've seen opened in front of you. If a girl looks uncomfortable with a guy get her out of there even if 당신 don't know her. Don't let your drunk 프렌즈 do anything they wouldn't do sober. Always drink water after alcohol. ^^

Moving out is hard, but what my sister did before she left for college was she made sure to meet up with her roommates well ahead of time, so she had someone she could cling to if things got tough.
