They are just plain mean and want to see them get hurt.

Some people just have all this anger and don't know what to do with it. If people are rude to me for no reason I just say to them "I'm sorry your having a bad day." and walk away.

The reactions vary.

Because they are insecure, so they take they're anger out on other hoping it will make them feel better but as a result of it, it makes them feel even worse, therefore; they continue to do it.

Because some people are messed up and I personally like getting verbal fights with them. Gives me a chance to let off some stream.
