In books/movies/shows which endings do 당신 prefer? A sad one 또는 a happy one?

I always feel as though the story is incomplete whenever i see it conclude with apparent good cheer.
I just think that when an ending is not a happy one, it always a better 덮개, 랩 up for the story.
'and they all lived happily ever after' just doesn't seem like a very satisfying means to an end.

Happy. But I prefer the 'in the end, it'll all work out' happy rather then the 'they got married and lived happily ever after' happy. I like the sad kind of happy, 당신 could say. The one where, I dunno, Dad's dead, main character's lover is dead, but there's that sense of hope. No "happily ever after," but a "there could be happiness in the future." 당신 know? Those kind of endings.

*You would want to buy the 다음 BOOK. The 다음 series would refer to a whole other series.

How about a sad-happy ending?
Like one where maybe the main character's brother, who's been there helping through the entire story and that 당신 grow to 사랑 as a character, dies. But then after he dies, the world is saved in part because of him, and everyone else can live in peace 또는 something.

It depends on what the tone has been throughout the series/book/movie/show.

Like, what the events prior have been, and how it leads up to the ending, and how the author writes it.
