As far as I know, Norman Bates didn't have a box of vaginas, a suit made of skin, and bone and skin furniture......... So many serial killers in fictional movies are based on Ed Gein. He really rattled ppls cages!

Norman murdered more people (if you include the deaths in the sequels), but Ed Gein was far more brutal with what he did to the remains and their is something extremely disquieting about a man who owns a pair of gloves made from human hands.

There's good reason why so many deranged killers are based on Gein. I only lived about 30-40 miles from where his farm was, but I was too young to know anything about it at the time.
