Hi, my name is Annalise, and I am struggling through my first 년 of High School. First of all, after a hard day, I have to come 집 to my poor family who is suffering with an illness called Spanish Influenza. My mother and little brother are ill, and I can't concentrate on my school work, with them coughing and sneezing! My highest grade is a C- and believe me, that is at the bottom of my class! And the worst part is, my father is out of the country serving in the army. I haven't seen him since I was 8.
"Annalise, please answer this answer on the board." Mr.Roy demanded. "Uh...sure." I answered. I wrote down the steps he taught the whole class to help me solve the problem, then tried to figure it out. I wrote down my answer, and turned to face Mr.Roy. He stared at the board and then looks at me with a strange expression. I suddenly feel embarrassed, knowing I must have got it wrong. I patiently waited for him to give me the "evil eye" and yell at me. But for once he said proudly, "Nice job." I couldn't believe my ears! "What?!" I said, disbelieving his statement. For once I felt like I was smart, after all the fails and D's I'd earned. I literally walked back to my 책상, 데스크 at the body of the room. With my head held high, I felt Mr.Roy's eyes staring me down with disbelief. For once, that didn't bother me.
After class was over, I left the room with pride and headed to my small locker on the east side of the building. I had swimming for gym at this time. Yes! The one thing I was good at. I was the only one in my whole grade, who had experience swimming competitively. I was on the swim team in 3rd grade! I headed over to the locker room with my gym bag swung over my shoulder.I pushed open the door and saw my gym locker swung open and a girl running away when she saw me. I didn't recognize the girl, she certainly wasn't from my class. When I ran to my locker, my cellphone,iPod touch, and watch were all still there, but all my snack bars and water bottles weren't. I didn't think much of it, since those were the cheapest snacks available. With my bathing suit on, I walked down the hallway to the pool and sat on a bench to set down my bag, and joined my class mates at the edge of the pool. My couch, Mr.Davidson, was giving the swim teams for the day, I was on one team with 4 other girls and 3 boys. When my team was deciding with stroke each person would do, my team leader, Jake, assigned me back stroke. Of course, he assigned me the one I'm the greatest at. ...TBC
