Me and Hans raced out of the prison like a blur. I don't think the gaurds even knew what was going on until maybe several scoches later. Then the alarm started blaring. I looked over my shoulder to see gaurds numbered 의해 the dozen running after us. Hans was flying level with the ground beside me as I slid down the hallway. Suddenly he made a sharp right turn. I skidded to a halt and looked down the corridor after Hans. It was a dead end all but a small window at the 상단, 맨 위로 of the stone wall. "What are 당신 DOING?!?" I shouted. "Come ON Alex!" Hans snapped. I was stunned for a momment. No insult? No jeering form of my nickname? Hans was serious! I darted out after him just before the first gaurd caught me. I was sure I'd be euthanized sooner than these guys had planned on. Then suddenly Hans shouted, "Fahlcon! Don't move!" I looked up just in time to see a 칼, 나이프 darting towards me. The humans can't understand what we say apparently. I honestly don't know WHAT the gaurd heard but it definately wasn't what I heard. He looked up too, but all too late. The 칼, 나이프 lodged in his chest and clipped a few of my feathers in the process. The gaurd gasped in pain then collapsed to the ground. I leapt free as soon as his grip went limp around me. The two of us took off. "Jump!" Hans shouted. He jumped up and blasted out through the window. I followed not far behind. I shot through the window, my sides skimming on the edges. After that everthing was a fast blur. I saw Hans standing on the 거리 a ways below me. Then the ground getting closer and closer, Then with a sickening thud I smashed face-first into the hard, paved ground. My left flipper just so happened to be underneath me. With a sharp, painful crack I heard it break under my weight. Hans was on my case in an instant, "Get up 당신 nincompoop!" he shouted. I shook stars out of my head. I coud hear and feel my pulse pounding hard. I tried to raise up, pushing up off of my flipper. It resented that completely. I winced, "You wanna..uh..help a guy up?" I asked Hans. Hans rolled his eyes and grabbed my left (in other words my broken) flipper and yanked me up to my feet. I guess I must have screamed a little too loud because the gaurds found us within 초 it seemed. Hans swore under his breath and shouted, "Run!" I wheeled around on my heel and dashed after him. Now how many of 당신 soft pretzels have ever tried running away from long-legged gaurds on short legs with a broken flipper before? I can tell 당신 it's not easy. I chased after Hans as best I could. I didn't make it very far before the pain overtook me. My vision got blurry and I started zig-zagging. The 다음 thing I knew I had smashed into a seafood cart. My flipper was twisted awkwardly around a splitered board and another board was jabbing me in the side. Hans grabbed me 의해 the scruff and jerked me up. "Come on Skipper! Ve need to go!" he snapped. Hans leapt up and slapped me with a strike of his own, "It's not like that!!" he shouted, "I have feelings Skipper! That's vy I came back!" I struck him with my own fish, "You came back so 당신 could kill me yourself! That;s the case!" The gaurds were rushing up behind us now. I saw them first and turned and slid away. I realized I was heading for the harbor. I was heading..-a cold sweat broke out on my forehead-.......home.
