Ok, chapter three. Hope 당신 enjoy.
I wake up before even Skipper. I turn over to look at the four, sleeping penguins. I smile. Private, on the 초 lowest bunk, is cuddling his lunacorn as close to his chest as possible. I frown. I makes me think of my favourite stuffed toy back home. (yes, I'm 12 and I sleep with stuffed toys sometimes) Half way around the world.
I get off the floor and wander around the HQ, trying to figure out what to do. I'm normally hungry as soon as I wake up, but I'm not. Then again, this isn't normal. I look at the clock. It's five am, 또는 as Skipper would say, 0500 hours. I like how he talks, all army like 또는 whatever 당신 call it.
"What should I do?" I sigh, flopping into a chair. I look around the room. Then I think of something. I spot Kowalski's notepad, on the 표, 테이블 and pick it up.
"I'm sure he won't mind," I say. "I mean, there's nothing else to use."
I pick up the pencil and open it to a blank page. I begin to sketch. I want to get as much detail as I can, so I concentrate hard. It takes me a while, but I finaly finish. I sit back and look at my work.
"Good thing I have those art lessons every week."
I look around. trying to figure what else to do. I climb out of the fish-bowl door and stand on the island. The water looks beautiful and blue. 또는 is it aqua? No matter, I dive in for a swim.
"Oh this is lovely," I splash around. "The little pool back 집 has nothing on THIS." I float on my back, gazing up at the sky. The sun is starting to rise. I don't care if it's 0600 hours yet, I'll come out when the team come up for training.
"Look who's enjoying herself," I hear a voice say. I stop floating and tread the water. Skipper is standing on the island, smirking at me.
"I'm sorry," I say. "Are early morning swims not allowed before training?"
"No, you're fine," he assures. "I just wanted to come out a little before training." He gazes at the city, it's tall buildings silhouetted 의해 the sun, rising behind them.
"What time is it now?" I ask, climbing out of the pool and standing 다음 to him.
"5:30 또는 so," he says. He sits down on the island. I follow his action, leaning on my hands, I mean flippers. I have to get used to that.
"How come you're not being a paranoid jerk?" I ask. "Not that 당신 ARE a jerk, it's just sometimes-"
"I know what you're saying," he interuppets. "Like 당신 said last night, when we first met you, you're only 12 and probably don't have the capabiltiy of being a spy," he turns to face me. "Besides, there's something diffrent about you."
"Diffrent how?"
"You understood us. Humans can't normaly understand us."
"That's interesting."
"I'll have to ask Kowalski about it," Skipper says. "Speaking of, time I get them up for training. Those lazy knunkleheads aren't going to get away with being late," he chuckles and climbs down the fish-bowl door.
I stand up as the four penguins come uptop. I salute them all, 더 많이 'cuz I feel like than respect.
Skipper has us line up, shortest to tallest. Turns out I'm between Private and Rico. Skipper stands in front of us, flippers on hips. He looks at me expectantly, as if to say, 'you'd better do a good job'. I nod and he begins.
"Kick, spin, dodge, weave and bob, bob and weave, spin, kick, punch, kcik, punch, spin, dodge, duck, flip."
I panic hearing this, because I don't know if I can do the flip. I attempt, but end up landing on 상단, 맨 위로 of the other three. Skipper looks surprised and comes over to us.
"No so good at flipping, are you?" he asks, offering me his flipper.
"No," I say, sheepishly, take his flipper and standing up. I turn around to help Private, who was under me. "Sorry to dissapoint 당신 sir."
"Is it your first time?"
"Not at all. I used to gym at home, halfway around the world, and I could to flips. Only, it was off a trampoline and into a pit of foam. I could do flips on my trampoline, but for some reason, I 로스트 confidence." I sigh.
"We'll have to find that confidence, then," Skipper says. He looks at the pool. "Think 당신 could flip into there?"
"I'll try," I say. "I've never flipped into a pool before."
I walk to the edge and look over. I take a deep braeth and jump. I tug my feet in and push myself over. 다음 thing I know, I'm landing in the water. I resurface and gasp for breath.
"Did I do it?" I ask eagerly.
"Yes, in fact, 당신 did a perfect 720 degrees," says Kowalski.
"720? Isn't that like, two flips?"
"Yes," Kowalski confirms. Private clapped happily.
"Well done."
Later that day, I walk up to Private.
"Think 당신 could take me for a tour around the zoo?" I ask.
"Yes," Private says happily. "I'd 사랑 to."
He first takes me to the chimps' place. Phil and Mason seem very smart and nice. They invited us for 차 and we accpeted. Only, I didn't feel like tea, once Phil stired it with his toe.
Next, we went to the rhino, elephant, gorrillas, baboons, reptiles, 거미 monkeys, porcupines and flamingos. They were all fairly nice, except for Roy the rhino. He was grumpy.
Then we went to the lemurs' habitat. Julian was very interesting. Maurice seemed like the only down-to-earth one and Mort was disturbing me with the feet thing.
We enter the habitat.
"Oh, hello silly penguin," says an indian voice. A grey and black 여우 원숭이 jumps down in front of us. "What brings 당신 to my faboulus kingdom?"
"I'm giving CC here a tour," Private replies. Julian looks at me.
"Wow," he says, eyeing me. "Is it hot out here, 또는 is it just you?" he points to me.
"Uh what?"
"Oh silly, pretty, lady-penguin," he laughs. "As if 당신 didn't know. I am wooing you."
"Yes, I see that," I reply, annoyed. "And I don't like it."
"Of course 당신 do," Julian laughs again. "Did Ijust die, 또는 are 당신 a fallen angel?"
"You're gonna die and see a demon is a second, if 당신 keep this up," I growl.
"Oh, playing hard to get, eh? I like this game."
"This is no game."
"Julian, I think you'd better stop," Private warns, watching my face.
"Of course I will not stop," Julain says, putting an arm around me shoulders. "This here pretty, lady-penguin is loving it. I have another one. 저기요 baby, do 당신 know CPR? 'Cuz my 심장 just stopped at the sight of you."
I feel my blood boil. This is the last straw.
"That's it," I say, ducking away from his arm. "You are sooo gonna get it."
"Oh yes," says Julian. "I'd 사랑 to get it. Just plant one right here," he puckers his lips, and I know what he wants. It'e the perfect target.
I never knew I could 펀치 THAT hard. I'm surprised his teeth don't fall out. Julain staggers backwards from the force of the blow.
"Wow," he says. "What a woman."
"That's what 당신 get, when 당신 mess with CC." Private and I high-five and we leave the habitat.
"I bet Skippah's wanted to do that for a long time," Private laughs. "His face was priceless."
"Totally," I giggle. "I wish Skippy-Boy was here to see that."
Private then takes me to the 수달, 오 터 habitat.
"Marlene, Marlene?" he calls. "There's someone I want 당신 to meet."
"Sure, come on in," a voice calls form the cave. We enter and I see an 수달, 오 터 and a mouse.
"Oh hello," says the otter. "I didn't know 당신 guys were getting a room-mate."
"We didn't either," Private says. "CC, this is Marlene and Kiva. Girls, this is CC."
"Hi," I say, waving my flipper.
"Hello," says Kiva. "I'm Kiva, as 당신 know. So 당신 live with Skipper and the team?"
"Yeah, I'm a 펭귄 and so are they. I suppose it would make sense," I say, giggling. Kiva giggles too.
"Of course, of course," she says. "It's nice to meet someone new. How long have 당신 been here?"
"Only since last night."
"I see," Kiva says, sighing. "Want to come to my habitat and we can get to know each other? 당신 seem really nice."
"Yeah, I'd 사랑 to," I say. "When would 당신 want me over?"
"Anytime after lunch.
How'd 당신 like it? Kiva belongs to kivemarie, and had asked for a special request. That I add her OC into my story. kivamarie, did I do a good job keeping her in character?
