Leila and Greeley had just finished their first 년 of college. They were looking 앞으로 to the summer. Greeley asked, "What are 당신 going to do this summer, Leila?" She said, "I'm mostly going to relax and take it easy. What are 당신 going to do?" He said, "I think I'll do the same, but we should do some fun things this summer. After all, summer doesn't last forever." She said, "You're right. We should do some fun things together." He said, "I'd like that." Later, Leila texted Greeley and said, "My aunt and uncle and I are going to the 바닷가, 비치 this weekend. They said that I can bring one friend with me. I first asked Rita, but she can't come, because she's taking summer classes as well as taking on a summer job. Would 당신 like to come with us, Greeley?" He said, "I'd 사랑 to, Leila." She said, "Great!" He asked, "Is your dog, Paul, going too?" She said, "Of course he is." The two 프렌즈 were looking 앞으로 to their weekend getaway.
I woke up in the middle of the night, frightened out of my wits. I was relieved to see the light from my night light. I took some deep breaths and said to myself, "It's all right, Quinn. 당신 just had a nightmare." I stared at the ceiling, reflecting on the events of the past couple of weeks. After my grandparents passed away, I had moved to a different state with my family. Mother wanted to keep the tradition of going to church, since my grandfather was a pastor. Unfortunately, we unwittingly ended up with a hate group, similar to that of Westboro Baptist Church. My older sister, Louise, loved...

I haven't written any 기사 on my 팬 club in a while. I felt like 글쓰기 a eulogy about my dog, Fluffy. Fluffy was my 초 female dog. I remember when I got her. My aunt and uncle and I were visiting with my grandmother's sister in Florida. One of her neighbors happened to be breeding Smooth 콜리, 콜 리 puppies. I took one of them 집 with me, and I named her Fluffy for the sake of being ironic. She was the most vocal of all the 개 I've had. She was also very motherly. When we adopted Roxy, my Pit Bull, Fluffy accepted the pup as her own. She did the same with my Rottweiler, Stone, and with my newest dog, River. When my first dog, Diesel, passed away, Fluffy grieved 더 많이 than the other dogs, save for Sadie, my Labrador. Fluffy grieved really hard when we 로스트 Sadie a 년 ago. Fluffy was really smart, too. She knew hundreds of words and phrases, and I cannot possibly name all of them. I miss her very much, and so does everyone else. I'll never forget her. May she rest in peace.
It was the last night of New Religion's tour. After playing most of the songs from their album, they played a few cover songs, including System of a Down's "Ego Brain". That song had helped Erin through many, many hard times. Towards the end of the concert, Erin decided to play the final song. She said, "I'm going to play the last song. Many of 당신 who ever received an autograph from me may 또는 may not have noticed that I always sign right-handed, yet I always play 기타 left-handed. Well, here's the reason. I do this in memory of my dear friend, Barry. He was a big Paul McCartney fan. When...

Some weeks passed, and the members of New Religion were asked to give another interview. The interviewer asked, "How did 당신 all meet?" Erin said, "We all met in high school, except Paul and I met before then." Paul said, "Erin and I met in the eighth grade. She had recently 로스트 her best friend, and she was depressed. I knew she needed a friend." Lola said, "They later met me and Carl in high school, and we started a band." The interviewer asked, "How did 당신 come up with the name, New Religion?" Erin said, "Well, when I was a kid, I thought I was a Christian, but I started to become disillusioned...

It was close to Christmas. The members of New Religion decided to go spend time was their families. Sadly, Erin's grandmother passed away. It was devastating for Erin. When New Religion picked up their tour, many people wanted to interview Erin. Lola said, "She 로스트 a loved one. How do 당신 think she's doing?!" Carl said, "Erin needs time to mourn her grandmother. She doesn't need a microphone in her face." Paul said, "She's been through so much. Leave her alone!" Erin thanked her 프렌즈 for standing up for her. She later said, "I now know how Paul McCartney felt after John Lennon got shot." Lola hugged her. Things did get better for Erin with time. She 로스트 so many she loved, but she kept going and never gave up.

One day, the members of New Religion went on a hiking trail. During the hike, Paul got carried away and did not pay attention to the slope in front of him. He took a hard fall. His mates rushed to the slope. They could see him lying on the hard ground. "Paul!" They cried. "Are 당신 okay?!" He grunted in response. Lola said, "Oh, no! He's hurt!" Erin carefully made her way down to Paul. Carl and Lola followed. Erin knelt down beside of her friend. He groaned in pain. She said, "Talk to me, Paul." He said, "I think I've broken my leg." Lola and Carl made it to Paul. Carl asked, "Paul, do 당신 think...

The members of New Religion had been to New York. Their 다음 stop in their tour was Grand Rapids, Michigan. It was a bit different from New York, but they thought it was a beautiful city. Erin especially liked it. She said, "So far, the only city I've seen that was 더 많이 beautiful than this was Rockingham, North Carolina." Paul said, "It certainly a beautiful city. If I'm thinking correctly, one of the members of Red Hot Chili Peppers was born here." Lola said, "Yeah, I think so. It was Anthony Kiedis, wasn't it?" Carl said, "Yes, it was. He was born here on November 1, 1962." Paul said, "Geez!...

The members of New Religion had released their first album, Broken and Mended, which was named for Erin's song. After the release of the album, the band went on tour. Carl was the most excited about it. He had traveled to many places, and he really enjoyed it. He said, "I can't wait to start our tour. I 사랑 to travel!" Erin was the most nervous, as she was afraid of heights. She said, "I'm not really comfortable with heights." Lola said, "I'm sure you'll be fine." Erin said, "If 당신 get me high enough, I'll pass out." Paul said, "Don't worry, Erin. I'll sit 의해 the window." Their first show...

The 일 after I was released from the hospital, my friend, Alyssa, paid me a visit. She said, "I just heard what had happened. Are 당신 okay?" I said, "I'm badly hurt, but the doctor said I should recover." She said, "I'm glad for that. Why didn't 당신 come to me instead of running away?" I said, "I just didn't think things through, Alyssa." She said, "Ellie, promise me 당신 won't run away. You'll come to me instead." I smiled and said, "It's a deal!" Sometime later, Grandpa and I found the owner of the house on the other side of the forest. That kind man saved my life. The least I could do was...

Lying on the snow-covered ground, injured, I was sure I was going to die. I then saw the owner of the house approaching me. I had seen him in his yard on many occasions, but I never saw him up close until that day. He knelt down beside me. He asked, "What are 당신 doing out here 의해 yourself?" I faintly said, "I got 로스트 in the blizzard." He noticed the blood-stained pants leg. He said, "You don't look so good. You're pale." He then pulled up my pants leg and saw my leg was badly wounded. He said, "You're badly hurt, too. I better get 당신 to a hospital." He picked me up to carry me to his truck....

I continued walking through the forest. It was so cold. I could hear the snow crunching under my feet. Suddenly, it began to snow. I couldn't really see where I was going. I made another step, and I heard a snapping sound. Immediately after the snapping sound, I felt a sharp, stabbing pain in my leg. I thought, I must've broken my leg. I'll try to get up to see the damage. When I tried to get up, it felt like something was keeping me from getting off the ground. It was almost as if I was chained. I uncovered a hunter's trap in the snow. Grandpa had shown me how to disassemble a hunter's trap...

It was a Saturday morning. I had spent Friday night with my grandparents. Grandpa took me 집 Saturday afternoon. Father was waiting at the door. He said, "Ellie, 당신 have homework this weekend." I said, "I already did it last night, Father. I did it before going to Grandma and Grandpa's. Don't 당신 remember?" Father glared at me and said, "Don't get smart with me, Ellie." I said, "I'm not being smart with you. I'm telling the truth." He said, "Let me give 당신 what my father gave me." He slapped me across the face. The forced knocked me to the ground. Grandpa put himself between me and Father...

Shortly after coming 집 that evening, Father got some alcohol to drink. One drink led to another, and the 다음 thing I knew, he was shouting at me. He said, "Grandpa told 당신 about his hellish lifestyle, didn't he?!" I said, "I don't think it's hellish. He didn't hurt anybody." Father said, "I suppose now 당신 want to live that lifestyle." I said, "Father, it doesn't matter how one lives, as long as it doesn't hurt anyone else. It's fine to be a Christian, but it's not okay to beat the hell out of people in the name of it." I guess he knew I was referring to him. He beat on me a while and...

Every Sunday, my parents and I would go to my grandparents' house. Grandma always fixed a nice lunch. After helping Grandma wash the dishes, I would go outside, weather permitting. Usually, I'd find Grandpa sitting under the big White Oak in his garden area. Often, his Alaskan Malamute, which he named Wolf, would sit 다음 to him. One Sunday, he said, "Hi, Ellie. Why don't 당신 가입하기 me?" I did. Grandpa actually introduced Mother to the Beatles. I asked him about John Lennon's statement about the Beatles being "more 인기 than Jesus." Grandpa said, "That John. He was always very opinionated...

It was my twelfth birthday. After the celebration, I was in the study room, browsing the Internet on my computer. As I was browsing the Internet, I saw something that caught my attention. It was a heading that said, "Today is the 50th anniversary of when John Lennon said that the Beatles are 더 많이 인기 than Jesus." I was curious. I thought, Is that why Father doesn't like the fact that Mother and I are Beatles fans? Now, I knew a bit about the Beatles. I knew that they were extremely 인기 in the 60's. I knew that they were synonymous with the British Invasion. I knew about the Paul is...

The Devil Wants Peace
After high school, Allen, Peter, and I met Stan, and he became our drummer. After we became famous, I had a 선실, 캐빈 built in the mountains. Despite the fact I no longer lived with him, Uncle Bob continued to support our band until he was tragically killed in a car crash. I blamed myself at first, because I had a bad argument with him before he died, but in a dream, he told me he forgave me. I later dated an incredible woman named Violet. It didn't work out, unfortunately. Thankfully, it ended on good terms, and we're still good friends, but we just don't function as lovers....

High School
In high school, I got beat up a lot. I got beat up before high school, but I got beat up 더 많이 in high school. I only dated once during high school, but it took a bad turn when she got her 프렌즈 to tie me to a pole and beat me up. My mother thought they had killed me, not that she would have cared if they did. Later in high school, I had a dream encounter with John Lennon. I couldn't believe it was him, because he had died nearly seven years earlier. He told me it was his spirit. I was encouraged to try and change the attitude of my hometown, but I failed. After Randall and I got...

No Stable Place
Aside from Uncle Bob, the only other family members who paid me any mind were my grandparents. My grandfather passed away about a 년 and a half after my father's untimely death. My grandmother lived until I started high school. When she was alive, I could always go to her with a problem. Every time I would have a bad 일 at school, I would go to her. She would say, "Tell me what's wrong, John." I would tell her what was wrong, and she would make everything better. When she passed away when I started high school, I was devastated. Now I had no one to go to when I had a bad day. That's when my record listening became 더 많이 frequent. Other than my dog, Beatle, it was my only 출처 of comfort. I really missed having a person to talk to. I missed having someone who listened to me. When he wasn't working, I could call Uncle Bob and talk to him, but it wasn't the same. Grandma seemed to have an answer for everything. Nobody else seemed to have that gift.

Uncle Bob
When my father was alive, Uncle Bob didn't come to Devil's Garden often. After my father died, he came as often as he could. Uncle Bob was my father's older brother. He never married and never had children. Still, he was to be my legal guardian if something happened to both of my parents. Of course, I would later end up living with him anyway, but that's another story. It was close to Thanksgiving, and Uncle Bob came in. It was the last 일 of school before Thanksgiving Break, but I wasn't feeling well. My mother tried to force me to go to school, but I didn't want to move. My muscles...

Farewell, My Childhood
It was July 22, 1983. I will never forget that 날짜 as long as I live. It was perhaps the worst 일 of my life, the 일 I had to 키스 my childhood goodbye. I visited with my grandparents that day. I really enjoyed hanging out with them. My mother took my sisters on a shopping spree. My father had to work. I was twelve, and my father didn't trust me at 집 의해 myself. I asked to stay with my grandparents until after dinner. My father picked me up to take me home. Along the way, a truck ran a red light and hit the car. It happened so quickly, but I remember it so vividly....
