as far as the decision to break up, im against haley for that. i cant believe haley wants to end things. but i do understand that she is hurt, upset, and feels she cant trust him.

I choose Haley because I think this has a more to do with then just the Carrie Crap, I think the Carrie Crap was just the boiling over point. Nathan has tried lately, I'm just not sure it's been enough.
If he felt Haley wasn't spending enough time with the family he should have told her.
When Carrie first started coming on to him, he should have told her.
Why did they need a Nanny once Nathan started cleaning up his act. Why couldn't he have stepped up and been a stay at home dad for awhile.
I do feel sorry for Nathan, and as far as sides go on this situation I'm Team Haley. But mainly I'm Team Naley.

Nathan keeps screwing up:

S1, porn freak & disrespecting hales in front of his friends, not to mention using her to get to luke.

s2, giving an ultimatum about her music.

s3, treating haley like crap for way too long, accusing haley of tricking him into getting her pregnant.

s4, trading the car for a motorcycle, getting mixed up with loan sharks, keeping it from haley, which resulted in her getting hit by a car.

s5, Haley put her dreams on hold for her family, and nathan got to realize his dream, only to lose it from his impulsive stupidity. So he was a drunk for 4 months and therefore useless as a father, husband and partner. When he finally got it together, he lost more points by letting the nanny flirt with him, not telling haley about it, letting the nanny stick around after she REALLY crossed the line by kissing him, watching carrie swimming in the pool naked, and he kept it all from haley till she finally caught carrie in another one of her sexcapades with nathan.

What do you expect haley to think? The nanny and nathan were in a quite a compromising situation and haley's already put up with a lot. she was burnt out and she and nathan were just getting their marriage back together. it doesn't help that nathan never told hales ANYTHING about the nanny's indiscretions so far. Haley was just starting to trust nathan again. I mean he's lied time and time again in the past and his screw ups make it hard for haley to trust him not to mention rely on him.
Haley's emotional, confused, not sure what to believe (since he did lie already: "You said there was nothing more!" - Haley). She was obviously irrational with the whole divorce thing, but she was in an intense situation (her kid nearly drowned, the nanny told her some lies and some truth, both of which were rattling, and her kid pretty much hates her at the moment).

Nathan never means to do these things, but he's kind of an idiot and does them anywaz. I feel bad cause he has no idea half the time that he's made the mistake until he lives out the consequences.

Leyton4ever, I think I've always loved their relationship for many reasons one being of their chemistry is amazing. BUT, mainly b/c, yes, Nathan does screw up alot but he is really trying to overcome his upbringing. I think it's great how Haley motivates him to want to be a better man, and how Nathan makes Haley feel so special.
Or at least that's how I used to see them, lately I just see a painful marriage that needs some seriouse Marriage Counseling (I'm a Social Worker, if you can't tell).

they definately need some marriage counseling...and i agree they do have amazing chemistry...the biggest issue i've always had with naley...is nathan...i've...for the most part he's been my least favorite character, and i have a hard time liking the couple when i don't like both characters...I also agree that nathan does try to hard to overcome his upbringing...there are definately worse couples than naley, they definately are not one of my favorites...but thats elliesowner, you're one of the few people that have given actually reasons for liking them...thats great to see :)

and for everything else you said. he tried to tell Haley twice the first time Haley said that maybe its better if she didn't say anything(about Lucas and Peyton kissing)so he took her advice and didn't say anything the second time Carrie gave her two weeks notice so there was no point in saying anything
and Nathan is emotional too with his dad and with the Carrie thing its not his fault Carrie got in the shower with him.
Nathan has had enough drama in his life and Haley has a carefree life she had it easy compared to him.

I have always loved Naley, not as much as Leyton but so not the point. But I think that Haley over reacted, now before you go saying no she didn't. Let me just say I get the flipping out over Carrie and the kiss he didn't tell her about (His bad! he did need to tell her) but he was trying to be honest and she didn't give him enough on that one. But to go as far to say she wanted a Divorce, she was in shock.

I totaly understand why Haley feels this way. I mean she walked in on her husband showering with her nanny and then later found out they kissed!! I would probably feel the same way. She is not listening to him though, it is a misunderstanding!! And instead of her saying she wants a divorce right away, they should work it out, they have been through so much! wow! mrssamw. What is your problem? why do you have to be so crass? Did you read my comment? I never said Nathan kissed the Nanny! I have my opinion and you have yours. I'm not saying that nathan is a bad person or that it's all his fault. I sided with Haley because of all nathan's put her through. and I know that nathan had the right to be resistant to haley at first when she came back to him in s3, but he was pushing it when he dragged it on for so long (Luke even got pissed off at Nathan for it). as for the divorce thing, LIKE I SAID, it was a little drastic, but she was in shock! I know Naley will sort things out. and I know haley's screwed up in the past (I mentioned it in my previous comment!), but it seems like whenever haley screws up (which is rare), everyone jumps on her, and when nathan screws up, it's like so many ppl (not all) are used to it, so they make excuses for him. So God forbid if haley gets a little fed up and says a few things she doesn't mean. Now everyone's jumping at haley for her reaction, but I can definitely see why she reacted the way she did. I have the right to my opinion, so don't you call me names just because you disagree.

correct me if i'm wrong, but haley only screwed up once. and I already acknowledged that in my previous comments. it's just that nate keeps screwing up and I agree that highschool marriage isn't easy. especially considering the extenuating circumstances (nate overdosing on drugs, hales getting hit by a car, nate nearly getting permanently paralyzed leaving haley to take care of TWO boys for 4 months while running a home and working). and I know that Haley should work things out with nate cause she isn't perfect either. all I was trying to say was that I agree with haley's reaction. any normal person would react the same way considering the way it all happened and given their history...ppl expect hales to just up and believe nate after he flat out lied about nothing happening (she asked him "is there anything else" when he confessed and he held out on her). Hales had to hear it from the Nanny - who lied, but also told a little truth, which painted nate to be a lying cheater. I know nate never really cheated, but he really screwed up by waiting so long to tell hales, then he didn't even tell the whole truth; so I'm with hales. she'll eventually come to her senses...she just needs time...

They both made a few mistakes in the past seasons but they are not in high school anymore. In the real world you can't just let someone kiss you and not tell your spouse! And he DID watch her skinny dipping. He could have put a stop to this a long time ago. I really don't see how any of this is Haley's fault. It is a misunderstanding but if we saw things only through Haley's eyes maybe we'd also take not that Nathan only started acting only AFTER Haley hired that psycho.
